!!*ok*!! We are finally going to be able to purchase one of the iconic Rail route's in the US. I might be a little biased as I live not five mile's South of Beldon Town, just East of Spanish Peak. The unfortunate part of the DTG'S build of the Route leave's out another dramatic aspect of the Route being the choice of not finishing it to the Reno Junction! They probably didn't foresee the amount of time it would take to get from Oroville; to the Keddie Wye, or Quincy Junction. I have been building this route off and on for three year's and have working track from the UPRR Davis Yard (Roseville); to Reno Junction, and to Lake Almanor . Am I going to purchase DTG's rendering of this route? Very likely as I really miss Marc's ( 3Dtrains ) build for this Route, for MSTS, as he has been most gracias with time and help with the setup of my project. My project will keep my brain tuned up so I will keep plugging away at it as it is still a learning exercise for me.
Cheers Mountainrail2012

No niggles on this one,but it would have been good to have had the logical end to the Sub. No washrack for the California Zephyr!! No Williams Loop and I forgot about the Clio Trestle...about half of the Sub missing.

Still, it will be something to be able to run some of the route with WP stock - the Canyon is great, Keddie Yard and views around Keddie and up to Crescent Mills on the Bieber line should be worth seeing.

Would be nice to have a Zephyrette from Michael!

Great site here for more information

The MSTS route created by Nalle (Bjon Centergarn) was and still is wonderful, no getting away from it. (I know others helped and the assets created for the route which still hold up well today.

We have however made our own version just as we did Solider/Donner Sherman and Marias.
There is no need to compete with what went before, apples and oranges are different and both lovely.

(I was keen to make this route a few years ago but I got out voted for other urban routes, but hey I have a GP9 perfect for it :))

Its no matter, I'm sure someone competent will extend the route and make it shine. Something akin to Minerman's excellent work on the Bergen line.

Sorry to tell it, but there is nothing in MSTS that is close to Soldier Summit detail and rendering and I think this route is ready to be a follow up of the Utah route when considering scenery detail, after looking at the pics that have been released.

Agreed but some of us are compelled to P&M about everything.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who is elated by this news...

!*YAAA*!

To respond to ex-railwayman from the first page: I'm sure there would have been some kind of depot at Quincy Jct in the past, but essentially I think it simply serves as the junction between the Quincy Railroad and the rest of the network, and it basically appears to be the same setup now as it has been for a very long time. Glad to see you about. :D

I don't think anyone has linked this video previously. It's rather good.

But if fate should mark me to sit by your side,
Let's be pleasant travellers; it's so short a ride."

I am only trying to say that MSTS while it has great routes, it has not the quality graphics to emulate something like Soldier Summit rock and terrain textures, not even with Open Rails enhancements.
I have been myself enjoying many of these routes and rolling stock in MSTS for several years, since it was first released.

Quincy Junction did have a Passenger terminal as well as a branch that is still being used to this day into Quincy. Now it runs almost every day to and from the SPI Mill that is still going strong after all of these years with two traction Locomotive's. The route will be missing the Spring Garden tunnel that will drop you into the canyon that carry's what I believe to be the Middle, or South Fork of the Feather River. It is a nasty piece of track in the middle of a wet Winter. We can only hope they finish it before they move on to something else!

If your working on this route extend it to Reno Please and make it connect at Roseville too. I checked google maps and that is Reno is where the Feather River Canyon diverges and Roseville Where the Feather River Sub Connects and continue to Sacramento.
Driving thru the city towns country side and all over da world.
