Here is a bonus for the painters. If you need to decide what extra markings go on the car, here is a list by date, COTS details etc. - http://www.hosam.com/mod/rsdet.html

Then for AAR car type, go here - http://eaneubauer.ipower.com/type.pdf

As promised, I am working on a private reefer, here my first of a series of possible four different beer mechanical reefers - The Genesee Brewing Co. from Rochester, N.Y.

How about a couple of the famous Tropricana reefers? They are still running these although they are getting close to mandatory retirement.

A good source is just Google Tropicana reefer and look at the images. Lots of good direct sideways views there.

Thanks Buzz. I did find these although I have not found any «real prototype» of the white TIPX reefer. My concern is finding a decent image of «Tropic-Ana» and I'm not sure of the font type (although ARIAL could possibly be close).

I have the small logo of Tropic-Anna
Tropic Ana.jpg
, but non for the full standing Ana !**duh*!!

Here is a typical TIPX reefer series R670.

Could use help on these ...

*!!thnx!!*

NOTE **** I shall convince Larry to relocate the Autonumbering location in the mesh file to reflect TPIX markings ... any suggestion would be appreciated !!howdy!!

All of the RW white Tropicana car pictures I can find are of the newer units with the cooling units on the end however my research indicates that the two white color schemes were from 1972 and 1979 respectfully so I think they would all be retired by the mandatory retirement age. I'll keep poking around some more.

Buzz, we are searching the same paths - gives me support as I spend the entire day on the Net to gather image about Tropicana
... and here are two versions of our dear «Tropic-ana» :

Tropic-Ana standing.jpg
and my second find
Tropic-Ana standing02.jpg

If we look close at the decals on the model RR reefers, it suggest that the image is stenciled on the car side (which seems appropriate as stencils are easier and cheaper to apply than a fancy rendering.
Photoshop will solve the problem easily as long as I have a better drawing to work with - same for the orange and straw logo (seems to be a flat 2D drawing).

This project is starting to be a fun chalenge. Now I need a photo from anyone who may have one of these HO model to guide me along !!det!!

Do you need a square on view or would a angle view work?

Buzz,
"Beggars can't be choosey". The squarer the better as it minimizes distortion and propotions, but I'll take any info. I'm quite at ease with photoshop.
By the way, last evening I viewed 3 YouTube videos re. Tropicana juice trains and 98% of the large white reefers with outside cooling units are all heavily tagged with graffiti! And the orange / straw logo is never the same, from phantom off-white to almost dark red :-)

For now, I will concentrate my efforts on the 57ft mech. reefers ( since we have a super version of it for TS20xx ) !!**sorry**!!
