I think we are loosing perspective of this subject.
We are not in real life. This is something programmed inside the game. Anyone can show me a youtube video with that psyco phenomena taken in Soldier Summit?

Probably the truest statement ever made in this forum. Thanks for the clarification!

I've honestly never had SS Syndrome, But i have had (and still do have) NEC Syndrome. For EX) Going 60 on the NEC looks like your crawling but on Stevens pass going 60 looks like your flying!

I wonder if it is the same illusion as the famous 'Electric Brae' in Scotland...

You're right, I actually think this is what is going on here:

Thank you! I watched also a video of the Scotland issue.
Interesting to learn that DTG programmed psychological effects in the game.

They obviously didn't program "psychological effects," they simply modelled the area of Soldier Summit accurate to real world grades and DEM data which recreates the same exact phenomena.

Or go ahead and keep believing there's some mysterious "bug" that makes uphill trains look like they're going downhill. *!rolleyes!*

I have to agree with Buzz on this: I've never noticed this phenomena. If this is a real thing, it's not a result of programming but rather just how your brain is wired and how it chooses to perceive the image relayed through the medium of your eyes. Our brains, despite how wonderful they are, can be fooled, even by things that only exist on a computer screen and are not on our plane of existence in the real world. For example they can add color to an image that's completely black and white, interpret the same color as 2 separate shades, etc.

Case in point:

Check out a show on the Science Channel called "Brain Games". You'll learn all about it. *!greengrin!*

I don't get the images you posted. Even with the black bar they are different shades. At least for me.
