Thanks for the encouraging words, Griphos.** It was a pleasure to work on the route all those years ago and it's been a pleasure to follow the occasional blog posts since then. It's a real thrill to see the route now being worked on in the office and I am looking forward very much towards finally seeing it released. !*YAAA*!

Not long to go now! Eek!!

Cheers

Bob

A fantastic route this.

Mind you, when Derek first let us see this route way back in 2007, my pension was just a distant prospect but it looks as through I will be receiving it before the route is released *!lol!*

The best is always worth waiting for.

I can only apologise for the time I have taken.
It has consumed thousands of hours of my life and I can safely say this is no way to build a route!

It has been a long and winding road and I thank you all for posting on the blog and keeping my interest going when it has dipped.

I just hope those that drive it can enjoy it for what it is.

regards

Derek

In case anybody on your side of the pond is interested, there was a stream featuring the route last night.

Derek talks about his reasons behind creating the route to begin with, and his knowledge of, and love for, the area is clear for all to see. :D
http://www.twitch.tv/dovetailgames/v/6094065 It starts at about 5:40.

Cheers

Bob

I wonder why were talking about a British route on here that would be normally be discussed on UKTS, where people interested in British trains go.

Well, the preview screens for this were a great change of pace from DTG. At least I can mention about IHH (the revamped Class 105) on here.

Yes it might not a north american route but doesn't mean we can't talk about it here, no where in the rules does it say we can't talk about railways outside of NA. Derek from RSC does frequent this forum a decent bit and he is showing off his and others creation. Not everyone goes to other websites for Train sim, I'm quite comfortable here for my info. I could also venture there are a lot of people on this very forum that can appreciate trains from other lands.

Hi, I brought the route progress to the attention here because of the long history that I (and bob) have with a few people on here.
It may not be to everyone's interest but no harm in mixing it up. I don't visit the forums as much as I use to but I still love to see all the projects in development by everyone.

I was nervous about the twitch stream but Matt was a great help.
Still can not bring myself to watch it tho.

Many Brits are interested in North American Railroads, many Americans and Canadians are interested in British layouts, and as this has been developed by Derek who's part of the RailSimulator family and frequents this forum more than the other one, and has been creating this route for the best part of 8 years, many veterans of this forum may be interested to see how it's turned out. I'm sure quite a few nostalgic fans would be encouraged to obtain this layout as a tribute to what Derek has achieved over the years with his hand crafted content and desire to see his beloved birthplace brought back to life in our game.

My favorite routes are UK (WLoS and Cina Clay, e.g.). Thanks for bringing the stream to our attention, Bob. I've been eagerly awaiting this route.

I'm not sure why they didn't use subtitles. It's not a commonly spoken language really. *!!wink!!*

I'm not from the UK or US and visit TS forums all around the world. I like railways from all around the world.

I'm not that into routes beyond North America, but I must say that it's a very nice looking route. I like how far the scenery goes into the distance. Very immersive. It's a labor of love and it clearly shows as much. Great work Derek!! !!*ok*!!

It's not that bad Kate ... with a little practice it is possible for even us (UK) southerners to catch most of what Derek says *!lol!*

Joking apart, this route does look great and seems to accurately capture the feel of the North of England in the 50's and 60's.

The Twitch stream was an illuminating insight into the conception and birth of this route followed up by the loving care and attention of a very talented team of creators, a surefire recipe for an exceptional route.

The screen shots look great, Derek, especially the one of the station. Does the route offer shunting possibilities?
