Should have realised **!!bang!!** **!!bang!!**

Found some time and wrote up a scenerio for the newly outshopped NH Connie on the VNHRR - got right to the end at testing phase, and the Connie "she no-go!"

Some of the cab controls dont work (namely brakes & regulator) which i am sure has to do with the new upgrade. Do th eoriginal instructions apply to this new version, and how is that impacted by the .ap file? Do the repaints now need to reside within that compressed folder, or do the contents need to be copied into the original NH folder structure?

Basic stuff I grant you, but my window has gone again unfortunately *!sad!*

You can open the AP file with 7zip. http://www.7-zip.org/download.html or RW Tools if you have it. Just extract it into the same folder as the AP file.

Hi Grant,

The new Connie has some changes in several blueprints - audio, inputmapper, simulation, and most importantly, the engine blueprint. So if you're using an older engine blueprint that was included in a repaint package, it won't have the stuff needed to be compatible with the upgrade. At some point, when I have time, I'm going to go through all the repaints in the library and update them all (and probably put them in a single package).

I've been having a problem lately with both the consolidation and fef. The Connie doesn't even show up in my lists anymore except the old UP repaint but the model doesn't show up either. I've cleared the cache and verified my files twice but still no luck. The 844 also now acts differently than before but that's another question for another day. Any ideas what's causing this?

A c&p from Mike's Farcebook page;

I've just about finished the work on another upgrade to the AT&N Consolidation. It might take a while before it's released on Steam, but in the meantime, I'll let you know what to expect. Here are the patch notes:

AT&N Consolidation - Patch Notes (07/Sep/2015)
==============================================

Fixes
-------

* Missing "AI Helper" (left out in the previous patch) recovered.

* Various fixes to save and resume.

* In HUD version, live injector lever now closes properly when "water" button is clicked "off".

Enhancements
-------------------

* Advanced version's wheel slip/skid physics (with sparks!) now extended to the HUD version.

* Updated brake simulation for the Advanced version, adapted from the Soldier Summit advanced brakes (including scripted auxiliary and quick service reservoirs, and selectable brake difficulty level).

* Enhanced texturing of the pressure gauge faces.

* Reduced idle fire mass so that safety valves don't lift as soon as a scenario begins.

* Reduced dome throttle delay from one second to half a second (Advanced version).

* Increased condensation in winter (Advanced version).

* Enhanced smoke effects with distinct chuffs and longer plumes.

* Cylinder cocks now emit steam only when the admission valves are open and there is steam in the cylinders (Advanced version).

* Much more distinct (less muffled) chuff sounds (appropriate for a non-superheated locomotive).

* Improved clanking sounds, especially when coasting.

* Added impact and coupling sounds.

* Added fire noise (audible when the firebox doors are open).

* New, authentic single-chime Lunkenheimer "hooter" sound (generously provided by "steamboat75043") to match the whistle that is actually on the locomotive.

Note also that it will be uploaded to the file library here.

**!!bow!!** **!!bow!!**

Thank you. Look forward to getting my hands on this (Bob, stop hogging the Connie !*roll-laugh*! )

!*cheers*!

I'm delaying the upload of the new patch until a steam engineer acquaintance checks something out for me regarding the operation of the lap position of the brakes, just to make sure the simulation is true-to-life. Hopefully it won't take long.

It's actually quite complicated. I'm going to update them all myself soon, repackage them and upload them here, replacing the existing ones.

I've also got a list of things I want to do on the FEF-3.

Not bad, Mike not bad at all. The hooter sounds okay I suppose. Its not that I don't like but to be honest. It sounds like a dying cat.

Yeah, but that's exactly how the real Lunkenheimer hooter sounds :)
