I was more excited about news of the release of my update to the Connie, but that's been pushed to the back of the queue, again.

Well that's a lot of hype.
It's a train simulator. How could it possibly be "extreme" ? Even "exciting" would be a stretch.

It does sound rather corny. To me it conjures up images of the ICE-T leaping off a mountainside, doing a double somersault and landing back on the rails at the bottom of the valley to the cheers of an awestruck crowd of spectators.

Yes! SuperTurboTrain for TS2016 ... must have! (this could be the future for TestTrak)

Having worked in the fantasy world of advertising for several years (when I was young and desperate for a pay check), let me note that what the product creator (RSC, in this case) sends into the advertising department and what the advertising department subsequently delivers to the public are as different as steak and sausage. Hyping the product is the ad-folks' job. At this point, the anticipated release date for TS 2016 is stated as September, 2015 (and that, too, must be taken with a ton of salt). In the six months between now and that date, the product creators will continue to send bulletins to the ad-folk, foolishly and futilely attempting to bring the hype closer to the constantly changing reality, but more often than not, the exact opposite will occur.

In other words, don't attempt to look the horse in the mouth until the horse is actually standing in front of you. Sit back, enjoy the hype, and see what actually shows up in September -- or whenever.

I suggest this knowing that the exact opposite will occur -- as already proven by other messages in this thread.

Tom, When the company I worked for would start their promotional hype (bs) we would lovingly call it, 'the unobvious choice", because like you mention things will more than likely look totally different when the day comes.

I remember when ship simulator from a certain company went extreme... lets say that now the game is in development with another company !*roll-laugh*! The wording extreme does worry me a bit, trains and extreme generally do not go into the same sentence for any good reason. *!rolleyes!*

10 MILE PER HOUR SLOW ZONE! EEEXXXXTTTREMMMEE! *muscles rip through shirt*

Not the best tag line for a train simulator. Hopefully they will include a new route/loco instead recycling already made DLC, that would be refreshing.

I agree with all the above about the marketing message missing what I imagine is the majority of their customer base.

I take a lot of solace in the fact that the Unreal engine isn't mentioned, and the existing content gets one more year in the spotlight. Just my $0.02

Let's just hold off on further comments until we know just a bit more.

Been reading the DTG Facebook page today as well as the steam forum, and haven't read one person claiming that they have any understanding about what this extreme stuff is all about. Really poor marketing ploy, if that is what it is supposed to be. !*don-know!* Maybe with any new scenarios , if you make one mistake or arrive 1 second late at the end of the scenario, it will delete one piece of DLC from your hard drive. !*roll-laugh*!
