Just a FYI, I haven't had a bad install using the installer utility since 2014 came along.

I'm having an issue with the sound pack in TS2015. The engine (prime mover) sounds are there, but the horns are the default horns. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but this did not fix the issue. I even tried manually changing the horn.proxyxml to add custom horns, but the default horns remain...any thoughts?

Thanks Anthony, this was the BN white face version SD40-2.

I also tried clearing the cache and no dice.

That would seem to be a question better asked of the people you bought it from I think.

Try going back to the site and logging in and going to your area and downloading it.

Horns n stuff work on my end. I will try installing to a clean machine and seeing if I can replicate. Meanwhile, Bob is correct, if you go to your user Area, it'll show your purchases. If this doesn't work, go to the page you bought it from while being logged in, and it'll show the button instead of "Buy Now" it'll say "Download".

I have updates to include the NYNH, and every other SD40-2 that has been released since the v1.2 update with new horns, changes in volumes based on feedback, ready to ship. Just as I have been lately, waiting on Z to push them to the site.

Did you solve the unwanted attenuation problem with multiple unit consists? EMD 40 series GP and SD ran in lashups of up to 6 units.

There are two soundpacks available in the RWA library that have their engine main sound loops slightly out of tune for the ES44 and SD70.

I have been hacking around in the audioproxy.xml files a little of late, and notice there is a <BasePitchShift> variable. Can that be randomized or set to a slightly different value by a script when you hook up a m.u. consist? That could solve the attenuation problem and keep file size small.

Thanks for looking into it Anthony. I seem to be unable to change these Locos away from the default horn even by making the change manually as I've outlined here:

viewtopic.php?f=48&t=12488

So I'm guessing there's likely something prevent the custom horns from working in both cases, but I don't know enough about the nuances of sounds in train simulator to be able to figure out what.

Walter's sets use like 10 different samples, none of them constructed the way my sets are constructed. Doing what he does would require me to have at least 6 different SD40-2s to individually load test and record.
There's a pitch shift that can be randomized, (and is!) if you look in there. You can notice this by going in and out of the cab rapidly, you'll notice the pitch will change on the sounds ever so slightly each time you re-enter your previous view.

However, for the cab, which actually causes the headache, I have made it so you'll only hear the lead engine in the cab. The externals, which don't have the odd attenuation issues as often, have been adjusted to have more of a random pitch shift.

After an evening of experiemtning to try and solve my issue I can say that the only DLC that the horns do not install in is the SD40BnPack02 DLC. The BNSF, Shermin Hill and Donner Pass SD40's all have the horns installed, I'm not sure what would make this one different?
