Hi all;
I have a question regarding auto-numbering.
This is a neat feature for applying numbers to locomotives to provide a large stable of power without having to manually change the numbers by modifying the texture file.
I have been playing around with Dick Cowen's steam power converting them to Great Northern (see sample picture) as he has provide the additional texture files to do so. He has also provided many railroads so one can creative a lot of different sets of differing railroad power (Thanks Dick).
His key to numbering is a set of 13 slots for adding number-board numbers, numbers on the steam locomotive sand dome and numbers for the side of the cab, plus on alpha character for the identifying railroad. I am currently modeling Great Northern and want to instead of locomotive numbers on the sand dome I would like to change the two numbers to alpha character of GN, which Great Northern routinely put on their locomotives. I can always leave blank if not possible to do this, but it would require two addition alpha character numbers to be added to the texture folder and I have not figured out how to create them. Is this even possible? Is there any tutorials on how to create a texture alpha-numeric number set? The example in the picture is the Britkits USRA 0-6-0 Light Switcher and the tender is a texture modified UP 0-6-0 slope-back tender.
Any help would be appreciated.
Regards, Gerry
