Eh, these guys don't care. (not being insulting at all, y'all) They like and are comfortable with what they like. I have a friend that still runs 98SE and refuses to upgrade. I have a heck of a time finding motherboards that will support that O/S when he loses a board. (thank goodness he's only lost two boards in ten years) I was in on Beta testing of Win 7, so I knew it pretty well by the time it went to Release Candidate. Got Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit free out of that gig, too.

I hated XP when it first came out. Sent MS a nasty e mail, and they sent a letter so I could return it to Best Buy and get my $$ back. Wasn't until SP1 that I finally gave up Win ME. (yep, I said ME !*hp*! )

Back on topic, I know several other that have gone totally nutz with this sim. They love it. You can mod it, paint your trucks, paint your garages, buy a fleet, hire drivers, on and on and on! Should be a way to link ETS with TS, that would be interesting. !*brav*!

Me too. !!*ok*!!
A good place to get a bunch of add ons. http://www.modsaholic.com/forums/index. ... simulator/
I drive truck in real life but it's still kinda fun to play truck. *!lol!* I used to mod Haulin very extensive with zmod. Made a bunch of my own trucks for the game. Much easier than making things for TS. Had more fun creating than playing the game.

This is a good program to have for ETS2 http://www.ets2studio.com/p/download.html
It is like rw tools for ETS2

Well, I ended up buying the whole game today. What decided it for me was when the Demo stopped playing nice with me and said I HAD to buy to keep playing... !*roll-laugh*!
That's OK though, I'm owed some money soon and it'll more than make up for the $25... !!*ok*!!
It's surprisingly addicting! Mouse steering is a bit touchy, especially at speed! I ran broadside into a train at a crossing because I was pressing "X", not "S" for STOP!!! !**duh*!! Cost me € 9000 in repairs!
More fun to be had! !*YAAA*!

BTW - here's my first purchased truck:

Nice graphics rendering, and this is on my laptop that won't run TSX!

I had the same problem with controls, only for the keyboard. Going to mouse control smoothed things out.

BTW, I just purchased another bundle that included ET1. Nice looking, but not very intuitive, especially trying to grab a job and find your load, not to mention the nav-computer is difficult to follow. ET2 is light years ahead of its predecessor, albeit with greater overhead.
Cheers!

There's a US trailer add on pack you can get. It might be in that link I put up earlier. Great Dane reefers etc.

Play around with the steering settings you get your controller right. I use a flight yoke to drive and got it pretty smooth.

I was going to say that I use a wheel and pedals. I do race games a lot so I already had it. Between my flight sims and racing games, I have the wheel and a TrackIR so it really adds to the immersion factor. *!!wink!!*
As Bob says. Play with the steering settings. Calibrate. Steering sensitivity and non linearity.

Ok, so you guys got me curious so I downloaded the demo and when I tried to extract it using 7z I received an error. I also tried using W7 to open it and it failed as well. Anyone have any ideas as to why.

Marc, Bob, and Joe - Thanks for the comments. I've already reduced the rain probability to near zero. I don't want it off all the time, tho. I've also reduced the steering and braking sensitivities much lower than default. I haven't moved the non-linearity. Is that a speed-sensitive steering setting? If I can reduce the sensitivity at speed but maintain it in the city that would be of great value.
I have 12 hours in-game, and I've driven nearly 9,000 Km so far. My start-up garage is in Munich (I love München! !!*ok*!! ). I've already taken jobs to and from France, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Poland, and Czechoslovakia. I've upgraded my garage to 3 bays, and I'm working now to get enough to buy another truck. Then I'll hire a driver.
BTW - I am NOT going to do any driving in Great Britain! I'm not driving on the goofy side, not even in a simulator! !*roll-laugh*!
This one's real fun. There's another degree of freedom from TS. TS has one, forward/reverse. ETS2 has 2, f/r, and right/left. FSX has all three, it adds UP/DOWN. That's the scary one... !**duh*!!

Doug - it's not a zip file. It's installed just like any other Steam game. The demo has a limited play life, but it'll get you addicted too.
