Looking for Donner Pass Brake fix Tester/s

Unread postby Ericmopar » Mon Jan 20, 2014 12:02 am

I've gone through all the rolling stock and engines for Donner Pass and am looking for experienced modders that know how to back up their stuff before installing this pack.
It's a brake fix for the dynamics and air both, and affects a lot of stock. As far as I can tell it's all ready to go, but I want guinea pigs for a Mod this size. *!greengrin!*

Sincerely yours, Eric.

File soon to be found in RWA File Library.

Okay, I put it in my OP.
It will rewrite your engine simulation files, so if you had mods of your own, back them up.

Thanks all.

What's up people?
I'm sweating over here...
I'm talking to Buzz about a window fix being added to the GP9s. *!greengrin!*

No issues here! 10/10 makes the trains run much better, thank you!

Woo Hooo!

It takes a little practice, but a person should be able to stretch brake through the flats on a descent now. Usually a 6% or 33% set (depends on where the air does its initial set on the particular loco) on the air with blended dynamics, will let me control the train on 2.5% grades. Then when I get to a flat, I release the dynamic brakes and give it some throttle to pull through the flat spots. (while maintaining the 6% set on the train brakes)
When I get to the other side I start letting off the throttle gradually to control the train speed, ending up back on the dynamics again.

Stretch braking works good when cresting a grade as well.

I've still to make some runs down cajon to test a really steep grade but on donners grades with 2 dash 9s and about 60 loaded wagons I can only get the dynamic brake upto about 40% before it starts slipping and 50% with sand.
Apart from that I can't report any other issues, although that might not be an issue and more my driving *!greengrin!*

Edit; just to say that's when running on dynamics alone.
I can keep everything good and tight with a minimal brake application and playing with the throttle/dynamics like you say Eric.

Something went wrong with your install then. That's what happens with the stock dynamics on the SP Dash 9. When you pasted the included "Assets" folder into the Railworks folder did you give it permission to Copy and Replace when promted?
You may have to clear the blueprint cache.

Yeah I copied over the files and cleared the cache.
I'll check it over soon.
Originally on my dash 9 when I hit the dynamics it would derail.
