Road Colors Contest

This little guy needs a paint job!

Unless you favor red-oxide primer, that is. But surely you can come up with something better, so let's have another contest! !*YAAA*! Post your favorite color scheme or schemes here. As with the route naming contest, we'll select several of the best ones and put them in a poll. The poll winner gets a free copy of the route.

Your posts can be a verbal description ("blue with white trim"); reference to a similar color scheme ("like the Green Mountain Ry"); a photo of a color scheme you like (doesn't have to be an RS-1); or however else you choose to communicate your idea.

But not red oxide, please! *!rolleyes!*

My favorite train line, ATSF.

Also, I'd love to supply some buildings and some cars for the route. What style buildings would you like, or what era of cars do you want for the route 1960's - 1980's.

Also, would you like some hot air balloons for the route, I'm making a pack that I can supply for the route only maybe.

@mdurdan. Are you sure, Mike? The loco model uses flat-mapped, pre-shaded texture sheets like this. And there are two more sheets that are even worse!

Of course I like the ATSF/Pacific Harbor theme but would stay close to home with this. Would be a simple paint. If you model it so it's easy to paint. Hint hint. *!!wink!!* Handsome little engine you got there! !!*ok*!!

Rick, message me the textures and I can apply a scheme that would look pretty nice.

Here's an interesting design I did in about 20 minutes.

There are no RS-1 drawings out there, so I had to use an RS-3. !!**sorry**!!

Noel, actually Michael Eby has made drawings of the RS-1. They're just hard to find. Google Trainiax RS-1.

Nevertheless I get your idea. Thanks!

I vote for a scheme that looks something like the Rutland used. Could stand-in for a number of similar schemes / railroads used in the northeast depending on the base color.
