I'm Stunned at the Comments I read online.

I've been really stunned lately at the comments I read online about TS 2014 DLC etc that are utterly untrue.

Someone described Donner as still having "Floating signals and track"
Someone else described Marias Pass as being all boring driving on flat plains....
Another commenter said that on Donner, that it's basically boring because you just set the throttle and just sit there. "Booooring!"

Clearly they didn't actually own these routes.

Clearly they shouldn't be playing a train simulator if they fret about these kinds of things.

Someone described Donner as still having "Floating signals and track"

Only ever seen that when I did not have the game settings set up high enough.

Someone else described Marias Pass as being all boring driving on flat plains....

They must of only seen half of the route then because the other half is quite a funny looking kind of flat. :)

Another commenter said that on Donner, that it's basically boring because you just set the throttle and just sit there. "Booooring!"

Set the throttle and go I'll like to see how that works going down a mountain I'm pretty sure you'll need the brakes aswell.

Clearly they didn't actually own these routes.

I agree.

The comments sounds as if a child wrote them. What else would you expect from a child?

Some folks will never be happy. These routes are some of my favorites! I think they just dont know quite enough about the world of trains to appreciate what they have. If diesel trains is to easy, try steam locomotives with expert control and you being fireman too! !!*ok*!! Yup now we are railroading!

Well there is an element of truth on the Donner Pass comment. There are very long stretches where you can just set the throttle at run 8 and you'll be fine for many miles with little need to adjust it. Especially after Colfax when going eastbound up the western face, where there is constant and more consistent high grades.

I can see how some could find those stretches boring.

So when I get my route done I should warn people that it long and boring? I don't like that.

Let's try this on for size. I simple won't release my route to the public? No one wins! No.

How about this. If you have nothing good to say about someone's work then don't say anything. Nah, that would be too polite.

There are plenty of reviews about these long and boring routes. The trolls didn't have to buy or run them.

RailWorks is about building, driving, enjoying, trains. If they are looking for something else then they need to move on.

Errrrrrr....
I've never had that experience East of Colfax and Long Ravine.
The stair steps in the line, almost always assure a person of having to constantly modulate throttle or brake to keep a constant speed.
If a person is going 20mph up a 2.5% grade and reaches one of those stair steps, they immediately speed over the 25mph line speed.
Braking is just the opposite. Find a steady speed down a grade and come to a stop on a flat section, unless you are paying close attention.

I think you are taking this a little too personally. If a route is relatively boring in real life to somebody then it will also be so in a sim. I haven't heard anybody say they find a route exciting in a real life and boring in the sim.

I wouldn't take it personally if someone found boring a route I made. It's all subjective.

To Ericmopar....

I didn't say for the entire time, I said for very long stretches. Especially in the latter half of Colfax to summit run.
