I did it because working with the new texture format is very difficult andthis is my first repaint with this new format. That being said, I am doing a more simple repaint for my first try (NS) before I do the more difficult CSX one. The CSX one WILL get done, but in due time.

2 more. Since it is basic black NS, it's moving rather quickly.

Last update for tonight. Can anyone tell me about fixing the static numbers and the logo? I'm clueless. !**conf**!

Open up the decals folder. Assets\RSC\ES44NSHP\RailVehicles\Diesel\ES44AC\Default\Engine\Textures\Decals.
2 files. Conrail_logo.TgPcDx and little_numbers.TgPcDx.
Export those and paint the alpha channel jet black. That will make them invisible. !*salute*!
If you want to. Leave the ES44AC white on the Conrail_logo.TgPcDx alpha.
Conrail_logo.TgPcDx alpha looks like this.
trans.jpg

You're a painter. You'll get it. *!!wink!!*

The headboard numbers will be in the "ES44AC_Conrail_numbers.dcsv' like every other normal engine.

Word of advice. The hood will be the color of the Conrail that you cloned from incab. This is incorporated in the geo. I have not found away to edit it. If you clone the NS Nickle Plate and use the NKP geo, you will have a black hood. Something to think about. Do the decal fix thing the same way.

Nate, you were saying about the white unibrow. I had what you had on the CR NS repaint you show above but the center section with the headlight is a cloned over part that is pretty much not paintable. I found the part to paint for it but it also left a big white square on top of the loco. Feel free to mess with it on the 8038. More power to you for repainting these new RSC engines. !*salute*!

I've been very busy with life and other stuff. !**duh*!! I've committed to to much stuff, and am currently very back-logged on my projects. Some day, I will finish this, but I do not know when.

so looking around there hasn"t been many repaints for this new es44 engine. some still using the out dated es44ac to repaint. I guessing new ones is pain to repaint giving the complaxe of file or paint design. so I should scratch out cp es44 8900 series repaints unless rsc get license agreement. now I could give it try but if it very complex for this new model then I going to have trouble repainting.
