Last time I had a problem (TS2013 release), the issue was that I'm on Windows XP. IIRC, RSC said all development is on Win-7-64, and although Matt provided a Staem-level fix, I guess I'm screwed again. *!sad!*

Ya really autta think about getting Win7 64 bit. You will not believe the stability in comparison and the performance differences. We still have XP at work so I get to see this every day. XP was and is a great workhorse however 64bitwin7 is truly a great leap.

The new 3ds Max plugins with 64bit support for Max 2011/2013/2014 are in the Railworks Dev folder. Where is 2012?

First impressions...

Don't really like the new menus. The animations make it take a little longer to get where you want.

It seems my tracks moire and flicker is worse than before. There also seems to be more Z-fighting in scenery than before as well.

Like the new mouse wheel zoom in cab and trackside.

Tried the Putnam-bsb-mojave-trona-final route from my free roam resume save. The original weather when I played it in 2013 last night showed dull greyish skies with big billowy clouds slowly moving across the desert. Resumed it today in 2014 and a drastic change in look. The billowy clouds are gone and replaced with those high, flat, summer cirrus. The skies are no longer grey, but bright summer blue. The colors of the route seemed more saturated and bright....almost like it was in TSX-OFF mode...but it wasn't. Loaded up Marias Pass in quick drive and colors and saturation looked normal and fine as before.

Anybody know where the NEW consist builder is? !*don-know!*

new consist builder is in quick drive menu. click on train and then "custom" loco. give the game a few min to populate the wagon list. its awesome. it shows the locos/wagons in 3d asset editor type view then you can add them in at will wherever you want however you want. you can save it. then return to the scenario editor and click on consists and it will be there.

I'm sure it works fine, and I'll eventually upgrade, but I have several older programs that might not work on a 64-bit platform, let alone Win7/8 in any form. Since XP is listed as a supported OS, I'm sticking with it for the time being.
Cheers!

Still no 3rd party routes run including CSX Mainline and Connelsville to Baltimore. RW tools on one route lists many missing file in the Kuju folder. Includes audio files and the SD40-2 black. Looking at some files, the SD40 Geo file is missing among others. Kuju files and folders were included in the update. Many 3rd party routes require Kuju items.

How about dual boot, or even simpler, a virtual machine like the free Virtual PCfrom Microsoft?
Also compatibility mode goes back to Windows 95.
It doesn't always work, of course.

Cleared cache, verified files. Routes that sometimes work.

Cajon Pass
Cajon Pass-Scale Rail
Donner Pass
Horseshoe Curve
NEC
Sherman Hill

They usually do not work with 3rd party scenarios.

Their own British and German Routes do not work.
No third party route works. Have tried bringing up free roams for most of these routes. They do not some up either.

Every time I bring up TS2014, it states that they are updating scenarios, but they never seem to finish doing this.

Back to Open Rails until they straighten this out.

Anyone else having the issue that the quick drive consist editor will crash while loading up your choices? probably due to my high amount of third party items but...

Seems to work fine for me folks, 3rd party routes included.

As others have said, you may need to validate your steam files, clear your cache, restart a few times.

Not to Hijack the 2014 thread but I have this on my HP laptop and it works like a charm. At the time I had to upgrade to Win 7 Professional in order for all the features to work. Of course I did this for work and then FedEx decides to upgrade to Win7 64 from XP so now it's useless to me but it would be a viable alternative to purchasing a new unit while still maintaining your current XP programs.

I agree with that comment. I find the same thing. But game loads insanely fast now, and also stutters less. For a free update, and what seems to be yearly thing; AMAZING.

I wasn't planning on buying TS2014 cuz I already own Donner Pass and don't care about the other routes..... then you had to go and tell me this. I'm both an SP and EMD nut. Hmmmmm.

Might pick it up on the next sale just for the SP SD70m.
