Hi Michael Stephan, I'm a little surprised you are not doing the route in the Great Northern Diesel Era? The screen shots look great, keep up the great work and please keep us posted on this one !!*ok*!! .

Rich S.

Will you provide a BNSF defect detector?

Lots of fascinating, and highly erudite, questions...

Can I just say THANKS! - for this and all your other contributions?

Kind regards,

Hi,

Thanks for your comments. First I'd like to stress something that might get overlooked in the intro post -- this route is a collaborative effort by several route, model and scenario builders. Though I'm the one who posted about the project here at RWA, this is by no means "my" route.

Will a backdated hardcore switchback hell from the 1890's version be produced?

As with the electrified route: possibly, though less likely.

Will you provide a BNSF defect detector?

We're working on something. Detectors will be included in their prototypical locations and will play a role in the scenarios.

Also, I think somebody mentioned Skykomish...

I hope for better scenery drawing in TS2014, cuz this route has magnificent landscape. Just seen some vids from that area and TS2013 distant mountain terrain rendering is not enough for it. Donner, Marias and this route really needs distant (textured) mountains with snow caps and fog around them..:)

Btw: I see ES44DC, sitting in "to do list" on facebook page of one of the developers here. This could be the rolling stock for this route.:)
But this is my clear speculation of course... *!greengrin!*

Stevens Pass Development Team

Are you contemplating building a pair of Great Northern Railway's class W-1 GE electric locomotives that were used on the 73-mile (117 km) electrified portion of the railroad, from Wenatchee, Washington to Skykomish, Washington, including the Cascade Tunnel. I know they were scrapped in 1956 and replaced with diesel power but this would make an excellent throw-back route for mainline electrics in the mountains.
