Postby CSX2057 » Mon Jul 08, 2013 4:17 pm

Alright you steam lover's. !!*ok*!!

Got a tough question for ya.

How do you compare Sp Forward Cab with other US steam engines? BB, Chall, and K4 (AT&N beats over all steams. Not included with the question, sorry)

I would say its just behind the K4 in the list (Connie-K4-Cabf-BB-Chall-E1-S2-GS4) with the connie being #1. although some may say that the sounds are a bit off its still a great engine.

Agree with "thecanadianrail" altho I don't have the Connie and I would move the GS4 up two spots. I like the driver's perspective out the front windows (altho I usually drive out of the cab). Detail is pretty good, too.

Did you deliberately exclude the G-Trax locomotives? Are you asking about appearance, physics, or what? Or just which one do us steams freaks like best?

NO! I completely forgot the gs-4, sps, and NKP. DOH! Just Steam (not Freaks) that like best. !*roll-laugh*!

Just had to ask the question before I swap one out with the diesel, but I can't make up my mind!

Before I offer my opinion I just thought a bit of trivia would be to offer up that there are 9 different paint jobs out there for the SPS 700. And we all know that XDriver is probably holding out on us. They are not near all from him either.

I have both the Version 2 of UP BigBoy and UP Challenger locos and both the Version 1 of Challenger and BigBoy locos. The Version 1 locos remain in my IHH assets directory. You will also find the old IHH Consolidation loco there as well if you owned TS2012 before the last year's October upgrade to TS2013. Both Version 1 of BB and Challenger also show in my Collection page as well.

I find the 4-8-8-4 and the 4-6-6-4 to be the biggest disappointment I have ever had in this simulator. The models are fair with some relative major inaccuracies. The sounds and especially the physics are just plain atrocious.

Pretty disappointed isn't it? I don't see how hard to change the sounds from IHH to V2. Only if you know what you're doing, I might give that a shot after I buy them both.

I'm going to second that comment. They fire poorly, the pull poorly, they are just not accurate to what the real engines were capable of. I can get more use up Sherman Hill out of a Cab Forward then I can a Big Boy...

Does anyone have any experience with the BB and the Challenger Performance Packs?

XDriver fixed most of the problems so they run fine.
