Postby CSX2057 » Sat Jul 06, 2013 1:58 pm

Well I got the bnsf default engine sound changed!

Now how do I get it to work on Independence? I hate default sound.

I was going to ask about the improved SD40-2 sounds in the RWA files section, how they can be used with the RSC payware downloads ?

This has been posted in the past for other DLC.
I even posted a batch file for doing that.

That will work, all SD40 sounds will be exactly like the default.
If you want different horns on some engines this won't work.

I was just reading this post and thought I would attempt to change the sounds of the SD40-2 Independence, with the great sounds of JCornel's GP-38.
I went into explorer and went thru the list noted on this post. The only problem I think I'm having is I'm not sure if I'm copying the sound files into the last folder on the list.
Because nothing is changing on the Independence engine.
Has anyone figured out how to accomplish this feat?
I would certainly like to be able to change the engine sounds with the ones I like.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks so much.

How I did was to copy the Sd40 Engine from simer4 and just placed it the exact location of the file in the independence and it worked for me. Though I think you got to have that file for the default first.

Be sure that you back up those files first in case they don't work.

Thanks will give it a try.
I'm not to sure about what I'm doing when changing files but I will try it anyway because I don't like the sounds of the engine.
I really like the sounds of Justin Cornels GP-38.
Well I'm off to try again.
Thanks

NP!

One thing I would like to ask others, I would love to hear other sd40-2's different engines and horn. Not to be all in one. Wonder how the BN sd40 sounds like now?

You might also like the GP38 sounds by Krellnut, here in the file library.

Well I must be doing something wrong because it's just not working for me.
Maybe the new engine won't let you change the sounds.
Sort of like some of the routes you download only show up in the editor section of railworks. !**conf**!

This is what I'm trying to do.
I have the GP-38'S that are JCornel has on RWA and I'm trying to change the sd40-2 Indpendence sound file with the one from the GP38-2 Norfolk Southern engine or any of his GP38'S.
For sure I'm doing something wrong but I don't know what.
I go into explorer and go thru all the folders to the gp-38 sound files copy that folder.
Do the same procedure all the way to the sd40-2 folder and paste the sound folder there.
I don't know if I have to delete anything in the sd40 folder or not.

Excuse me.
Thanks Krellnut.

Are you using my sound pack or the default sounds. If your using mine tell me which SD40 you want done or maybe all of them, and I'll set you up.
