BNSF Dash 9 Texture Enhancement

Unread postby ZekTheKid » Mon Aug 15, 2016 3:08 pm

Before anyone asks, no, the SD70 lighting enhancement is not dead, it's still in beta.

Anyway, thanks to Buzz, I finally got paint.net's recolor feature to work properly. So I decided to fix the textures on the BNSF Dash 9, which was ok, but could be better. So I decided to use the recolor feature; properly this time. This was the result:

....but comparisons work better when the objects being compared are the same... These are not. Sorry. I can't tell the difference because the pictures are the same....

The colour looks great! It matches the GEVO in the back perfectly. Good job.

Much better, this will go very well with Searchlight and Anthony's upcoming FDL sound pack. Are you doing the dirty/weathered variant as well?

It looks good, but I prefer the original. It's an older paint scheme on an older model so to me it looks right. Slightly faded and a little dusty.

I like it. Color is all in the eye of the beholder. *!greengrin!*

Yes, but with a little more weathering and less shiny *!greengrin!* , but please not this will be my first time ever trying to weather, so bear with me.

I like how well it goes with the gevo, I like it when locomotives of the same railroad are the some shade of color. I don't like it when a yellow is too dark or light from other locomotives. (unless it's weathered)

The actual weathering itself doesn't look dirty per say. Looks more like it hit a paint truck.
