Western Railway of Alabama (WofA) GP9 by David A. Hardy (wopflyer)

Repaint of the RSC GP9Pack01 GP9

Description

Dedication:
I dedicate these repaint's to my Grandfather, Warren H. Caldwell, and my Great-Great Uncle Pete, whom both worked for the "WofA" in Montgomery, Alabama.  And to my Uncle, Warren H. Caldwell Jr., whom shared my love of railfanning, model trains, and so much more.  You are missed but never forgotten.
A Quick History:
The "Western Railway of Alabama" (WRA) was also, and more commonly know, as "WofA".  It was part of "The West Point Route" along with the "Atlanta and West Point Railroad" (A&WP).  The WofA ran from Selm, Alabama to West Point, Georgia and then the A&WP ran from West Point to Atlanta, Geogia.  The "West Point Route" was controlled by three major railroads (the Atlantic Coast Line, the Louisville & Nashville and the Central of Georgia) while it's passenger operations were most closely co-ordinated with the Southern Railway.  (Forwarding trains such as "The Crescent" and the "Piedmont Limited".)
Much more information can be found in the book, "The West Point Route: The Atlanta & West Point Rail Road and The Western Railway of Alabama" by Robert H. Hanson.
Download:
Presented here are the only two GP9's owned by the "Western Railway of Alabama" in their original paint scheme.  These units were used to pull both freight and passenger trains and would sometimes be placed in-between two FP7A's in a F7A-GP9-GP9-F7A, configuration.
All credit for the lettering on these repaints goes to buzz456.  He was nice enough to do a repaint for me a while back and he gave me premission to use his lettering on these.  Thanks Buzz!!!
Instructions:
  1.  These repaints require you to have the RSC, GP9Pack01.
  2. You can just copy the Assets folder included in this download and paste it into your RailWorks folder.  OR, you can copy the folder's "WofA_530" and "WofA_531" and paste them into Assets/RSC/GP9Pack01/RailVehicles/Diesel/GP9.
  3. Next, go to Assets/RSC/GP9Pack01/RailVehicles/Diesel/GP9/Rock/CabView and copy "gp9_cab.GeoPcDx".  Now paste this file into the CabView folder in "both" repaints.
  4. And lastly, go to Assets/RSC/GP9Pack01/RailVehicles/Diesel/GP9/Rock/Engine and copy "GP9_01.GeoPcDx".  Now paste this file into the Engine folder in "both" repaints.
That's it, you should be good-to-go!  Have fun and I hope you enjoy this little piece of Alabama history.
Thank You,
David A. Hardy
