Hi

A pleasure. The question is, would anyone actually know if they didn't do it right? *!!wink!!*

I half assume that there will also be some 'new' wagons with this route, and I'm very much hoping that they're going to be supplied with decent couplers!

Cheers

Bob

It states it in the contest they put up on their Facebook page.

Sherman Hill is a recreation of the line between Cheyenne and Laramie, Wyoming, and includes the notorious grades over Sherman Hill. Along with this great new railroad line, the pack includes SD70M, SD40-2, ES44 and SW10 locomotives in Union Pacific livery.

There are many variations in the Union Pacific SD70M fleet. Notched nose / rounded nose / flat radiators / flared radiators. They have a few to choose from. *!!wink!!*

Remember this months "Map of the Month" in TRAINS Magazine is Sherman Hill, plus a well written 20 page article about the history of Union Pacific:

Hi

Can't wait to see this route in its full glory. !*drool*!

I wonder whether anyone has any background information about the extinct yard at Buford?

I'm aware of the infamy of the place - http://www.whatsonningbo.com/news-2238-us-man-don-sammons-60-is-the-only-resident-of-buford-wyoming.html - and it's existence seems to be inextricably linked with the railroad, but why would you build such a large yard in this sort of location in the first place?

They really need to do an SD70M to accurately portray UP operations. *!lol!*

Union Pacific used to get it's "Sherman Rock" Ballast from the quarry there. The town was up for sale and sold for around $900,000 USD (about 10 acres, a house, convenience store and gas station.)

From RSC on facebook

a fantastic new US route is coming to Train Simulator 2012 this August, and it looks set to be a tough one! The railroad from Cheyenne to Laramie, Wyoming, has such tough grades that the Union Pacific railroad built locomotives specially to handle it, giving us the Challenger and Big Boy that are still revered today. With Union Pacific diesel horsepower on hand and some heavy freight trains to move, this will be a great new expansion pack for all US rail fans.

Running between Cheyenne Yard and Laramie Yard, the line is 60 miles in length and is flanked on either side by the wide, open grasslands and rocky outcrops of the Wyoming landscape. The line also serves a number of small industrial yards along its length.

Along with this great new railroad line, the pack includes SD70M, SD40-2, ES44 and SW10 locomotives in Union Pacific livery.

Yes, and the new site is just southeast at Gravel and has a neat return loop - how's that for a prototypical model railroad? :D
Cheers!
