Description

HSC Cows Scenario-01

This is a switching scenario by Tom Pallen for the RW3 (TS2012)
Horseshoe Curve route.

Installation instructions: as usual, unzip the RWP installation file to
a convenient place, such as the desktop, then start RW3, open the
Package Manager (a "refresh" is advisable), click the "install" button,
navigate to the RWP package, and click "open".

Scenario description:
On a snowy day, your task is to assemble two freight trains from cars
located in the South Fork Yard. One train, consisting of cattle cars,
will be placed on a nearby siding for later pickup; you will haul the
other, made up of flatcars, boxcars, and hoppers, to the Woodvale
Yard, where the scenario ends. Your work should occupy a little more
than an hour.
A separate text file containing detailed sorting instructions at South
Fork is included in this package.

Required Equipment:
This scenario requires the Horseshoe Curve route from Railsimulator.com
{ http://railsimulator.com/productdetail.php?Ref=65233 }. All rolling
stock is standard or included with this route, except for the Freeware
PRR K7a Stock Car available from the Golden Age of Railroading site:
{ http://golden-age-rails.com/freightcarpacks/prrk7a.html }. Only the
PRR Stock Car itself is required, but a Cimarron & Pacific repaint and
some static cows are also available free.

Suggestions: as noted within the scenario, stick to an average 12 mph
speed limit while switching at South Fork, follow all instructions,
and save often. If at any time the mythical RW dispatcher does not
provide you with the correct path to your next destination, save, quit,
and resume the scenario.
I have timed the heavy AI traffic for an engineer driving at 12 mph
while switching and at established speed limits on mainline tracks.
Departing from this speed may result in missing the AI traffic or even
crashing into it ... so be careful out there!

My sincere thanks to James Friedland for generously testing this scenario
and providing valuable comments and suggestions.

Legalese: I am not responsible for anything that goes wrong as a result of
installing or running this scenario, which may be modified and reposted
on conditions that I be identified as its original creator and that this
readme file be included in the package.
