Le Grand Nord

"Le Grand Nord" (The Far North) is a route by Zawal, a well-known French route builder.

LGN is a fictional 25-miles route set in Alaska (USA) and crossing the border into Canada. Running the total length takes about 40 to 50 minutes.
It is beautifully modeled and very realistic, perfecly capturing the atmosphere of Alaska's cold and remote regions. It offers possibilities for all kinds of scenarios, having passenger stations, logging camps, coal loaders, container loaders, etc.

The route comes with PierreG's custom-made assets, including planes, ships, canoes, snowmobiles and even bears ready to eat your lunch and/or you.

3 freeroam scenarios are provided, and also a scenario pack by Beluxtrains including 10 standard scenarios. Patches have been applied and the asset pack has been reduced to a minimum. The original asset pack from railsim-fr.com has some redundant files, some old versions of assets, and some copyrighted files from DTG that used to be freeware but are now payware. We prefer to provide you with the links to the individual assets.

Installation

1- Download LGN.zip from the RWA library. Extract the following 3 files:
- LGN_v1_1.zip - the route and readme file
- LGN_Assets.zip - some custom-made or hard to find assets for the route
- LGN_Scenarios_Beluxtrains.zip - 10 scenarios by Beluxtrains

2- From each zip file, extract the package (rwp file) and install it using the Package Manager (Utilities.exe) in your Railworks folder.

3- In Windows explorer, go to your railworks\Assets\Kuju\RailSimulatorUS\RailVehicles\Diesel\SD40-2 folder and copy the following files :
sd40_2_black.GeoPcDx from Black\Engine to ARR_Black\Engine
sd40_2_Def2.GeoPcDx from Def2\Engine to ARR1\Engine and to ARR2\Engine

4- Download and install required assets:

5- Follow the instructions included in the Beluxtrains scenario pack. Note that payware is only required for the "P" versions of two scenarios. As always, you can swap items using the RW-Tools utility from Mike Simpsons at http://www.rstools.info/downloads.html.
