The fictional Three Notch Feed Company of Troy, Alabama, in the southeast part of the state which is part of the "Wiregrass" region. It serves hundreds of chicken farms located in the area and owns its own switching locomotives. Three Notch Road, originally part of the 1800s Three Notch Trail, runs through Troy. The three stripes on the car not only represent the three notches with which the trail was marked, but the Creek Indians, also known as the Red Sticks, who lived in the region.
