Milwaukee SD45 10-Pack; 02 MAR 2022


Repaints by Rudi Jaeger, exclusively for the payware DTM Union Pacific SD45 available at the Steam Store.

Includes 5 early and 5 late versions, all individually weathered, with and without crew. The Milwaukee Road operated 10 SD45's, designated class 36ERS6, with the first order being built in Feb 1968 and the second in Dec 1968. Credits to the original developer for providing the textures which served as the foundation for these repaints.

Concessions were made for the following items:

1. The 4-digit road numbers changed to numbers 6 thru 15 with the application of the 'billboard' Milwaukee Road script in May 1974, but I chose to retain the old 4-digit numbers due to the number-board setup used by the model.

2. The prototype Milwaukee units were equipped with plows, which are lacking on DTM's UP model but present on their SP model; but the SP model has nose-mounted lights, unlike Milwaukee's cab-top lights. I consider the lights configuration to be more conspicuous than a missing black plow on an all-black end-sill; so I chose the UP model.

Installation:


1. Transfer the Assets folder (from this zip file) into your main Railworks folder. Note: There are no requirements to overwrite anything.

2. Go to "Railworks/Assets/DTM/SD45-UP/RailVehicles/UP" and copy all the folders (Bogies, Cabview, Engine, Simulation) from the "UP" folder into each of the MLW_4### folders pre-installed from this package, selecting "no" or "skip these files" when prompted to overwrite the pre-existing files.

Mission complete.


When using the scenario builder, be sure to select "DTM" then check the box for "SD45-UP" from the right-side flyout panel. Locomotives will display in the scenario builder's "selected" assets menu (left-side flyout) as "EMD SD45 MLW ####" with the "ND" suffix indicating the non-driver versions.
