Gotta love the "road closed" sign when theres obviously not a road there... as the signs say in California: "your tax dollars at work!" !*roll-laugh*!

Well, after about a month absence from the forums, I feel it's only right I come back swinging with some of my favorite shots from the past month or so. Lotsa CN stuff!

We'll start off with a CN M345 on the siding at Duplainville as a Q116 races past on the main. April 14th-Duplainville, Wisconsin.
Image

CN L504 rolls back towards the Waukesha Sub main after spotting veggie oil tanks on the Amron Spur. April 16th-Waukesha, Wisconsin.
Image

On the night of April 18th, we find Wisconsin and Southern's train no. 3 waiting to get on the CN and head north. April 18th-Waukesha, Wisconsin.
Image

In the wee hours of the morning, CN M341 is waiting for a southbound at Duplainville behind a pair of ponies. April 20th-Duplainville, Wisconsin.
Image

Later in the day, a nice SD60/70 combo bring a northbound into Colgate. April 20th-Colgate, Wisconsin.
Image

Taking advantage of a full moon. April 25th-Duplainville, Wisconsin.
Image

A nice SD60F and an ex-CNW Dash8 haul M347 through the sticks. April 26th-Theresa, Wisconsin.
Image

CP 803 sports two CSX SD50s and makes easy time on her trip west. April 27th-Wauwatosa, Wisconsin.
Image

A BC Rail Barn heads up CN A446 at one of my favorite spots. April 28th-Waukesha, Wisconsin.
Image

WSOR 1502, still in Milwaukee Road paint, sits under the cover of darkness. April 29th-Waldo, Wisconsin.
Image

A nice pair of Barns sit on the set out track at Duplainville, later to run as a C711 coke train. May 3rd-Duplainville, Wisconsin.
Image

Suddenly springtime, L510 heads north after a rare trip to the Amron Spur. May 5th-Waukesha, Wisconsin.
Image

One of CP's weird ECO units switches out the seldom used Lone Star spur. May 6th-Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Image

A pair of cowls roll north with M345 just after sunrise. May 7th-Sussex, Wisconsin.
Image

A solo Indy MAC rolls CP 288 east. May 7th-Ixonia, Wisconsin.
Image

A DME "Red Bomber" leads grain train #394. May 8th-Brookfield, Wisconsin.
Image

Now up to the north country, we find an empty Allouez ore train heading west on the old GN. May 10th-Alborn Minnesota.
Image

DMIR 406 South leads the charge with U717. May 10th-Burnett, Minnesota.
Image

A pair of fading "Zebra" SD40-2Ws bring the Keenan Road Switch towards it's namesake. May 10th-Iron Junction, Minnesota.
Image

A trio of SD60s (two SD60Fs and a spartan cab SD60) are large and in charge of a manifest. May 10th-Ramshaw, Minnesota.
Image

The star of the day, BLE 904 South with U793, is in dynamics as they begin the descent into Two Harbors. May 10th-Waldo, Minnesota.
Image

After hauling butt and dodging deer on dirt roads, we get ahead of U793 once more. May 10th-Waldo, Minnesota.
Image

Now for the whole reason I was in Minnesota! MILW 261 waddles across the mighty Kettle River on the BNSF Hinckley Sub. May 11th-Sandstone, Minnesota.
Image

Chasing along Hwy 23, which parallels the BNSF for a good long stretch yielded many crappy drivers, but we got ahead a few times! May 11th-Askov, Minnesota.
Image

After more driving, and a little bit of snow, we're on the Wisconsin side as the train approaches Superior. May 11th-Superior, Wisconsin.
Image

After the steamer arrived in Duluth, we waited for more CN action. Here fresh 5411 and 3 SD40-2Ws haul 17 limestone loads up the hill out of Duluth. May 11th-West Duluth, Minnesota.
Image

DMIR 402 South brings steaming taconite pellets towards Two Harbors. May 12th-Fayal, Minnesota.
Image

A Thunderbird Mine Shuttle (known as a T-Bird) brings raw ore to the Fairlane Processing Plant as the Keenan Road Switch heads north. May 12th-Iron Junction, Minnesota.
Image

A U-Tac load heads south across the Whiteface River. May 12th-Kelsey, Minnesota.
Image

Another view of the IC 6256 South as it bangs through the reverse curves south of Alborn. May 12th-Burnett, Minnesota.
Image

One last view of the U-Tac loads as they head for Proctor, passing the forlorn, shuttered depot at Saginaw. May 12th-Saginaw, Minnesota.
Image

Back on the hunt for 261, along Hwy 23 again. May 12th-Duquette, Minnesota.
Image

And once more after dealing with pacers. May 12th-Askov, Minnesota.
Image

My buddy and I called the chase off and headed back to the Iron Range, where we were duly rewarded with the CN 5411 again, now leading a full Limestone train north. May 12th-Saginaw, Minnesota.
Image

Then over to Duluth, where CN R92181 (Proctor Road Switch) was parked waiting for a crew and dock workers to begin dumping pellets in the dock. May 12th-Duluth, Minnesota.
Image

And now under the ore docks, where CN R92182 (another Proctor Road Switch) was shoving around some limestone empties. May 12th-Duluth, Minnesota.
Image

Now back home, a tardy WSOR T004 rolls towards home rails on the CN. May 14th-Waukesha, Wisconsin.
Image

CP 642 bangs through the curves at Elm Grove. May 15th-Elm Grove, Wisconsin.
Image

Another instance of Indy 9009 running solo on a CP freight. May 15th-Brookfield, Wisconsin.
Image

Indy showed up again yesterday, with the 9013 leading CP 281. May 20th-Brookfield, Wisconsin.
Image

And 281 again west of Nashotah. May 20th-Oconomowoc, Wisconsin.
Image

And a CSXT "Boxcar" GEVo leads empty coke hoppers as the sun goes down. May 20th-Oconomowoc, Wisconsin.
Image

And that's just the good stuff....needless to say, the past month has been pretty frickin sweet!

I very rarely make videos...and when I do...they're with my phone...haven't taken a vid since last summer I think....

My Nikon DSLR ain't built for videos....though some of the newer SLRs have that function.

Nice shots, Mike! Was that BCOL unit an ALCO, or an EMD?
