Yep :D

Don't worry though, I didn't use many polygons. I optimized the geometry (manually) and used some visual tricks to enhance the 3D. I like to be able to go up close to the locos and inspect the parts, so it's worth the extra to make them look as real as possible.

I might even treat myself to a 12 year, or maybe a 15 year, if it sells well *!greengrin!*

I was given a 24 year old Dumbarton single malt for my 50th. Delicious!

Careful or we'll have to start a thread on single malt, like another forum I read. Not that it would be a bad thing! !*cheers*!

Nice castle nut, but the way!

Hey Mike, can we see the drawings like laid out on the floor to see how big they really are?

I have a few of the drawings myself. The ones I have measure 30''x120'' on average.

That's right! The aerospace engineering company I founded 12 years ago, along with over 20 colleagues, and that had grown to over 500, ran into hard times recently (the crisis has affected everyone, and Spain in particular, with over 27% unemployment as of this month). Our owners (we sold to them in 2009) ordered us to cut the workforce and reduce the burden of salaries, so I volunteered myself for redundancy. Officially, my last day is Tuesday, but yesterday was my last day at the office. I now intend to relax and enjoy a stress-free life, doing what I really like, which does not include going to endless, boring, useless meetings *!lol!* It does include making models of steam engines !!*ok*!!

That is good news (sorry I am a bit late to the party) There is nothing as satisfying as leaving a job you are just not happy in. It feels like a massive weight is just lifted off your chest. Just rest, relax and take life easy. !*YAAA*!

I had to rearrange the furniture to place this one (locomotive frame) on the floor (sorry, I forgot to measure it before putting it away again).

Thanks Grant,

Extremely satisfying, yes! To be paid to leave is even better *!greengrin!*

I'm at home now, after getting up when I felt ready to, coffee in hand, 3Dcrafter and some good music on the laptop ... bliss!

!*cheers*!
