Stick with school -- you still need more of it!

*!embar*! !*roll-laugh*! I'm in High School, I have a pretty high average but that to* just got away from me !*lho*!

Also, Inc3pt, I noticed your playing my workshop scenario in the photo *!greengrin!*
Can someone inform me if the engineer dims their lights when passing another train?

High School? Man that was along time ago for me. Wish I could go back. My senior year I was awarded a scholarship to Carnegie Mellon Univeristy in Pittsburgh but turned it down to join the Marines and go to Nam. The decisions we make and the paths we take. Now I have been cutting tombstones for 37 years. I guess I just take things for granite... *!rolleyes!*

The decisions made by an honorable and selfless man like you is something I hope none of us ever take for granted. Thank you for serving your country Bob! !*salute*!

I think PapaXpress explained it above. It's an issue with the engines and their headlights, definitely not a "feature". !*cheers*! Great scenario by the way! I posted pictures from it in the screenshot thread too.

Though I like the route and especially the new train physics behavior, I still find that headlight issue annoying... I'm driving along in the dark and repeatedly keep wondering where that glow on the ground is coming from and then a train POPS suddenly into view. That's not the way it should happen... I should see the train's headlight far before I see a glow on the ground, even in some fog (especially in the fog). It messes with my sim-reality.

Something that added an additional touch of realism for me is that I disabled the weird sounding radio sounds that came with the locos from the route and then I turned on the actual radio for Whitefish MT using this link to the radio: http://tunein.com/radio/Whitefish-Area-BNSF-Railroad-s147345/

Its quite a busy station actually and its realistic since its correct for most of the route! (im shure there is a different channel for Shelby?)

Out of curiosity, could somebody explain a bit further what Derek means? For the first time the other day I heard the SP Defect Detector on Donner Pass. Do those always go off when you go over it and somehow I've missed it other times? When might we hear it in Marias Pass? !!howdy!!

It'll sound something like this:

As for it being scenario based, it makes sense, that way axle counts can be accurate to your consist and temperature can be varied by detector location.
