Importing a DST file

When I imported a dst file I get this window pop up.

What is this all about?

I haven't had to make any adjustments in this window. I just hit the OK button and all has come out just fine for me so far.
After the model comes in, I then center it to my canvas. (Right click the main folder then pull up the properties to do it. Although, you may have to re-group everything first.)

I just click OK too and the model shows up on the canvas without having to do anything else, as you suggested.
I just wanted to know what that was all about and what affect it could have on the model.
I looked it up in the help files but that doesn't tell me much about what affect it has on a model.

Well, no answer to my question explaining the reason for creasing, so let's try this question;
Before importing a dst file into 3DC, is it best to join all parts in TSM first or leave them as unjoined?

I don't fiddle with creasing much but as I understand it, 3DC or most graphics engines attempt to smooth any transitions so that curved surfaces look curved. If you want the surfaces to have a bend or 'crease' you have to apply the crease operation. What it does or how it works I can't comment to. Frankly, I've never used it and as far as I know for MSTS and RS it might not ever have to be used.
