P42DC Phase III

Unread postby donjgatlin » Sun Dec 23, 2012 12:41 pm

Hello,

I have been looking around and haven't found any repaints for the P42DC in a Phase III scheme. I was wondering if anyone here would be willing to take the time and re-skin the Gtrax P42DC into the original Phase III livery? I know there is the heritage #145 paint scheme, but it isn't the same as the original paint scheme on the P42's and just doesn't feel right. Not to mention I cannot change the running numbers to at least try and fake it. I hope someone will take this into consideration as I would really enjoy seeing this locomotive in Phase III. Again, please? **!!bow!!**

Do want. It would go nicely with the Phase III Superliners included with the F40PH pack.

While we're on the subject of Amtrak. . .

If we're gonna have that, we'd better get it with Strobes on the cab too. :D ALL ABOARD THE PAPAEXPRESS!

A little side question relative to this.

What happened to the P42DC that was released a while back? I don't find it on Steam or the Railsimulator site.

I would like to get it since I've been on a consist with this as the power a couple of times.

I have noticed that too. Try looking in one of the American packs or something, and if not, G-Trax I think sells them on their site.

Nope, it's been given to RSC from G-Trax, and hopefully will be (re)released at some point on Steam. It's a nice loco with nice cars. I have it, but I'd hate to see it disappear for good from Steam.

@Griphos

I sure hope the news you heard about P42DC to be re-released on Steam Store is true. I sorely miss not having it to run all the neat Northeast Corridor Workshop Scenarios currently available. I missed purchasing the DLC just as the Railworks4\TS2013 update was released and the RSC EULA issues got in the way of all the G-TraxXSim assets.

I'm just paraphrasing the GTrax site, under the news section. Here's the quote:

The Portland Terminal and P42DC products will continue to be available on Steam only. Updates to and maintenance of these products is the responsibility of RSC/Steam.

I can see about taking a shot at the Phase III Genesis. I have that engine so ima toy around with it. I even remember the stripe fading towards the rear of the engin when they were first delivered.

As far as the E60, Thats something someone who knows 3D modeling would have to do. I remember seeing that engine rarely on the NEC. I believe NJ Transit had them too. I may want one myself just to have. But I cant remember what routes AMT had them on.

Someone already uploaded a Phase III unit to the file library, but if you want to make a Phase III with the faded paint scheme, that would be fantastic! !!*ok*!!

Do note that the file preview is of the Heritage unit rather than the Phase III, but it actually is Phase III as Amtrak had it on the P42DC's and not the black version like the F40's.
