Well it's SP, so I'll have to get it despite it's droning fan sound.
EMD 2-strokes rule! My all time favorite: SD45X also love the SD40-2/SD40T-2/SD45-2/SD45T-2/DD35A/DDA40X/SD70ACe/SD80ACe

Armor yellow can NEVER look as good as the SPs scarlet and grey.

That is a matter of opinion, but the yellow on the UP SD45 is not armour yellow, neither is it on the SD70ACe, or the Sherman Hill locos. They are all close, but I don't like the lack of color consistancy...

It looks amazing though!

Well I just bought it and my quick impressions....

Pros: It's Southern Pacific complete with mars lights. It's scenarios have high average run times compared to the UP SD45's. Dead notch up sound between notches 5 and 6 fixed.

Cons: Droning fan sound and the engine not being throaty/loud enough is still there. Unlike the UP SD45, there isn't a scenario rated higher then EASY. No snow plow. Headlight doesn't light down the tracks.

Pro or con: The paint is a much lighter and weathered Southern Pacific paint scheme then say the SD40-2 or SD40T-2 SPs that come with the Donner Pass route.

At the end of the day it's a Southern Pacific, it's EMD and it's an SD45. That's good enough to make it a must buy for me. !!*ok*!!
