This is an amazing model! I've always ben dissapointed in the lack of 3rd party addons/mods in RW compared to other simulators, but this gives me hope *!!thnx!!*

Thank you!

Since the last time I posted screenshots, I've been working on the tender detailing and the loco cab interior, which will be just as detailed as the outside, with extremely realistic gauges and controls. When that's finished, I'll go back to doing the sounds.

I don't know when exactly it will be ready to send over the RSC for testing and eventual publication, but I'm still hoping it will be done by Christmas.

Cheers,

Mike

I'm still waiting for the day this will be released.

I must say that at the moment I have 0 inspiration to model anything, so I haven't even touched 3D Crafter in a couple of weeks.

As soon as this one is finished, I'll be starting another (but I'm not sure what exactly, except that it'll be something that's needed).

An old Atlantic would be nice

A forney would be pretty cool too :D (it's narrowguage though)

The biggest problem is about getting hold of the engineering drawings with all the dimensions. That's what I've used for the Consolidation, 1/8th scale drawings of most of the parts, as well as the erecting diagrams that show precisely how everything fits together (including the motion and valve gear). It's practically impossible to make an accurate model without them.

Since we have the Durango and Silverton route now, some K28s or K36s would be nice. Really any narrow gauge would be a nice addition.

Instead of offering suggestions, maybe we should be offering adequate scale drawings.

Well, yes, or at least a pointer to where I can buy the drawings (I don't mind paying for them).

There's one other thing too - it's better if there's an existing RSC route where the loco can be run, because that makes it much easier to get it published. Other than that, I'm game for anything :D (and I like a challenge, something interesting and out of the ordinary).

Yep, that's where I got the plans for the Consolidation *!!wink!!*

Unfortunately, most of their sets are very incomplete. I might have to try the archives of a museum.

There are Locomotive Cyclopedias available:

http://books.google.com/books?id=NOZSAAAAMAAJ&printsec=frontcover&dq=locomotive

http://books.google.com/books?id=_blJAAAAIAAJ&printsec=frontcover&source=gbs_ge_summary_r&cad=0#v=onepage&q&f=false

Mechanically, most of the details on locomotives are the same.

Google books is loaded with books on railroad engineering.

Don't know if you would be interested in making donationware?

If so I have the blueprints for our 1907 baldwin 0-4-0 hanging up in the office. Our railroad is very low budget and we got shot down for a new boiler for our loco and also on a faire increase (it's owned by the city). If you would be interested in recreating it to help support the real thing (and our other pieces of equipment) that would be pretty cool (kinda like g-Trax).

I believe this is it originally (same model I mean)
