Ok So..

What a relief.. RSC fixed the dash 9s.. Happy girl.. But the older dash 9s with the csx liveries i like cause the picasso effect, so i'll have to figure out how to move those liveries over to the new models.. But i'm all excited too.. Just remembered it was payday recently and headed over to Cesars and bought the FA-1 set.. Really looking forward to that, especially the Rock Island livery.. Been workin on my route as well.. Planning more, getting more realistic in some ways, less ( perhaps ) in others.. I really miss the gentleman who was doing the route from mount shasta north towards Portland.. That was a beautiful bit of development.. I'm struggling with do i just want to make it ( my route ) private for myself, or do i want to make it freeware? Its huge, but size isnt the thing. If i make it private, i can do it real nice. I've purchased enough and downloaded enough to make any route proud, and if i make it freeware, i can use Kujos default scenery.. Not my first appeal.. It severely limited and mostly european. Building mountains i dont mind, building cities can be confusing, but i dont mind that either. Seeing the same building or tree every ten feet, now that i have a problem with.. I'm just not decided which way to go with it.. I'll try and post pics when its back to being worth taking pictures of..
Pam.. With apologies as i'm Just sort of rambling this morning..

Hi Pam,

If your plan is to create the Shasta northward, you can use the trees from World Landscapes, as there are plenty of conifers to make it look real nice. :D
Cheers!

There are plenty of freeware assets around, there are 800 meg included with the NERW route alone. NSAND has a bunch more.

People were saying if you reinstall the repaints they should work again.

As for the route I vote freeware! We can never have enough routes *!lol!*

I go with the free ware and there are plenty of new builldings right here at RWA That would make good addition to the routes available as well as cover a great section of the North west. imho

Sometimes you just can't escape payware. I found that Portland Terminal had a lot of models which I needed, and sadly I may have to rely on Donner Pass for some models because my route was SP and still has a lot of those elements around today.

::chuckles:: Thanks Guys..
Afraid I wont be doing Shasta Northbound though.. truth told, i dont know enough about railroads to do any kind of a decent job. I know what a switch is but not which ones to use, and I know what a signal is, but ditto on usage, and, how big is a block, and how do i measure that in RWA?? Noo, the one i'm doing is fantasy. Something like an impressionistic painting of the pacific northwests high desert region here in central oregon.. The desert parts are easy. make bumps and plant trees The mountains are a little more difficult ::chuckles::

If you go with payware assets, make sure they are good enough that people won't mind buying them.
Fo example, I wouldn't mind having to buy Portland Terminal because it is a great buy in its own right.
