Follow the install instructions again, they will need updated shapes. They will also need added blueprint sections to deal with the rain in the cabview ( copy the <wiperpairs> section from one of the default ones ) but the first step should let you use them as AI at least.

I'm able to start up a scenario and fly around the route, but when I select a train to drive it freezes and I get a SBHH. So I can look all I want, but I can't actually play. *!sad!*

Is the Dash9 working in a say normal (built-in) scenario? That is (or should be) usually the first attempt when (re)installing assets. If yes, than the problem is in your scenario, and there are tons of things that may be causing the SBHH: missing .geo files, unchecked blueprint flyout, vehicles overriding each other, vehicles over junctions, juctions against etc...

Thanks Kali.. Discovered exactly what you suggested just past midnight... Removal and re-install of the Pikes Dash9 repaints fixed the graphics corruption. All of the scenarios that came with the RSC Dash9 Pack appear to function normally.

This maybe the cause of the grief being currently encountered... From the Steam Forum Dash9 thread... RSC/Steam Response to a ticket submitted for the dash 9 issues

The Dash 9 has been renamed to match the official designation of this locomotive, the previous term "Dash 9" was only ever a nickname, so it has now been renamed to GE C44 - 9W please accept our apologies for any confusion this may have caused.

So are the Dash 9s working now? Was it a delayed update? Last night at 8 pm they were not working for me, but I am getting new carpetting today and had to tear the computor down so I won't know until tonight.

My Dash9 was success and automatically updated since the first time I turned pc on, on yesterday 15:30UTC. IIRC correctly your Time Zone your 8pm was 01:00UTC on today (ie 11 hours after I got my flawless update).

Verified game cache through Steam, cleared blueprint cache, still getting the error "Consist builder - can't load rail vehicle Dash9-44CW xxxx" where xxxx equals the version (BNSF, BNSF Clean, NS, etc)

Pike took his site down and gave everything to me. Once I get my D9s updated I will be redoing all of his D9's over again with the new files. I also have his signals, maps and a few other things that will be available on the NERW site soon.

Awesome, can't wait to see them when you are done! Pike's NS Dash 9s are my favorite locomotives in this game!

I am using the Washington DC server, which one do you use Doc?

I have 4 copies of RW on my system and updated all of them one after the other while eating and showering. WHen I came back none of them worked. I have all the same problems everyone else does. Will be looking in to it again tonight after the rebuilding of my desk and room.

  • Pick a RSC paint
  • Open the blueprint in RWTools or deserz it or however you want to turn it into xml
  • Search for "<wiperpairs>"
  • Copy that entire section including the final </wiperpairs>
  • Open your 3rd party blueprint
  • Go to the bottom of the cControlContainerBlueprint section
  • Insert your copied <wiperpairs> section just above
  • Save, and hopefully that should have sorted the cabview out.

If there's any other changes I won't know, I haven't updated my working copy yet.
