Silly Lionel making fantasy "What-If's." (Not that there's nothing wrong with that)

The real 'Jet Train' (M-497 "Black Beetle")

183.68mph in 1966 on jointed rail and on ballast you can barely call a "layer." Insane! Still the US Record for 'Light Rail.'

heheh.. I love the rocket train. Its looks would fit perfectly into Fallout 3 or even "Father knows Best".. I know the train sucked real bad, but you got to allow them some credit for imagination.. !*roll-laugh*!

I wonder what was going through the heads of the engineers driving that thing.

Speaking of the Jet Train, if I'm correct hasn't it been preserved somewhere? Or has it been lost in time like a lot of experimental trains?
Another thing, why hasn't anyone made a model of this in Railworks? It'll be nice to have something that isn't 100% serious for a change.

Yeah! According to Back to the Future, we should be seeing flying cars, holograms, hoverboards and all sort of nonsense within 3 years.
