Is it just me, or has the announcement from last week been completely removed from RS.com's Facebook? !*don-know!*

I was looking for it last night to see when it was happening as I thought it was this week, but I could not find it again either.

Yes I too was pretty certain it was announced for this week.. Fair deal if it is postponed but wouldn't it be easier to just make a quick notice about it?

They released 2 BNSF units first, later on they added the CN & NS, I presume thats why it is called the BNSF D9 pack.

How is this update coming along?

Or has it been replaced by the "new" ES44 supposed to come with the Sherman Hill route?

Well, with RSC diverting its attention into game console controls, what do you expect?

Do US users and those who like and buy primarily US content complain more? Are we and our money not taken serious enough?

Most likely the people doing rolling stock updates are different then the people doing the game pad code.

Probably, but there are management decisions involved, like allocation of money and other resources.

Correcting all these errors in assets and routes later is so much more difficult and expensive than getting it right the first time around. It is much better for your customer's peace and health and the company's customer relations. In the end it will benefit both parties if more quality control is applied.

I know keeping the cash flowing into your company's coffers is important, but a promise is a promise. Now there are so many Facebook pages it is difficult to keep track of what is happening and coming next.

The 44 Tonner, SD45 and U25B are produced out-of-house. Hopefully Lord Mannu and the guys at Oovee do their jobs. We can compare the quality of their work with the coming F40 that is RSC's, right? Given the progress shown on Facebook and the possibility to comment, suggest and correct there seems to be more customer involvement in the design of these assets.

Well, we'll see for ourselves soon enough with the coming Shermal Hill wether how good the ES44 and other locos will be updated.

Lets face it, updating previous DLC is quite low on their prioity list regardless of what RSC is working on, there have been just a few DLC updated since the release, like the 390/Class 67, and now we are waiting for the Dash 9 update indefinitly. I am not surprised or upset about this, I am not going to lose sleep over, I have other things in life more important. !!*ok*!!

Yes, I think we can write off the chance that any route or asset still listed as RW2 will ever be updated to RW3 standards.
This includes rather a lot of US content I am afraid.

the GP9 pack
the SW1500 pack
the SD70 series, but perhaps with Sherman Hill?
the BN, ATSF, NW and CN SD40 packs
the UP steamers, now "in possession" of RSC
the GTrax steamers.
Portland Terminal engines

Some of these have been hacked into RW3 with wet windows both from the inside and outside by others.
The older shape and texture files of the old SD40 packs will probably require a complete rebuild.

I wouldn't write off the rolling stock just yet, I am a bit more optimistic than that! They suprised me with the Dash 9 update WIP. If know for a fact though that they will not be updateing any routes as it will possibly break scenarios.

The "GP7" included with HSC has a cab with rain, and although I've not checked I will bet it's the GP9 pack one otherwise unmodified. You could upgrade your GP9s yourself with that.

Cajun pass recently got *an* update of some sort, NEC got *an* update, other than Castle Hill what other RSC US routes are there pre HSC? but there are a lot of DLC from all countries which haven't been touched. CN Widenose SD40 :( that's probably at the bottom...

What is actually needed for updating a route? I know that superelevation requires laying completely new track. Due to the way and precision scenarios store the position of every piece of rolling stock that means at least putting all of the trains on the rails again.

Cajon Pass could use superelevation, though, plus the grading of a few bumps and kinks.
The coming Sherman Hill will probably have it, as I think prototype trains reach up to 79 MpH or perhaps even higher if ATC is in place on this main artery of UP.

Of the default routes, only the Seebergbahn has been given superelevaton by some German users. Hagen-Siegen is also being worked on, at least track, lighting and scenery.
For any route with speed limits below 35 MpH/50 KmH is is probably not worth the effort.

There are a few building which uses obsolete shaders or have small errors, but these are of minor annoyance.

We could use better foilage througout, I have read that we need shrubs, bushes and trees that show themselves when projecting headlights shine on them.
I hardly ever drive trains at night, so really don't know.

Anyways, concluding this while we wait for things to evolve, I conclude there is still lots to do.
Perhaps the announced Steam Workshop will help things a bit, if RSC decides to release most of the stock assets for editing.

Didn't know about Portland engines being updated. They still look a little bland compared to the newest of RSC, but at least from the cab you won't notice much difference.

G-TraX steamers were updated to RW3. They have lights now and a new model.
