RRYard.com Magazine

Unread postby LoneWolfDon » Mon Apr 09, 2012 1:56 am

Greetings fellow RailWorkers.
I thought I’d try making a little magazine that would feature tidbits of news, reviews, tips and other related info for RailWorks3/Train-Simulator2012.

The magazines will be in PDF format. You can get from my site at the following page:
http://www.rryard.com/rryard_magazine.html
Cheers! :D

Very good Don ! The tips you mentioned are useful. Are you going to do any special topics like Turntables (US)?

Thanks for the nice comments guys, it's much appreciated. I'm glad to know that it's been of interest and helpful to my fellow RailWorkers. :D
So far I've been getting positive feedback about my little magazine.
I already have some good ideas for some of what I might include in the next issue, and if any of you have any suggestions of what you might like to see in some future issues, feel welcome to let me know.
*!!thnx!!*

@Mazherman: I suppose I could include some info about that in an upcoming issue. What were you interested in to see about turn-tables, some tips on how to have better success of using it (as I know that using turn-tables in RailWorks can be a bit tricky sometimes, and the loco is prone to being tipped/derailed from the turn-table), or for some Developer tips on how to implement it on a route in the editor? I was thinking I will add a "Developers Corner" as part of the magazine in which I may give some tips or little tutorials of how to do some things in the world and scenario editors.

If there's any other specific topics you might like to see covered, let me know.

Maybe consider adding some links to sites for tutorials, help, tips and such.

Maybe not in the next issue (it might take some time to compile the list, but I'm sure the folks here would be willing to help) but you could work up a list of RW help sites (the good ones *!!wink!!* ). Possibly have them at the bottom of all issues. I don't think that list would change much.

Hi guys.
Issue 2 is now up. :)
You can get it from here:
http://www.rryard.com/rryard_magazine.html

I've tried to make it bigger, better and with more content.
Cheers! ###Don###
PS: I'm having a "RRYard.com Magazine Screenshot Contest", see the last page in Issue 02 for more details.

Hi Hawk.
Thanks, glad you like it.

Regarding my list of links; Yes, I'm sure there's going to be lots of links I missed, there are probably dozens-of, maybe even hundreds of, RailWorks related websites that I'm not yet aware of. But of course people are welcome to suggest some good links that they might like to see added in future issues, such as you just did. :D
Cheers!

*Update: As I had just uploaded Issue 02, I went ahead and added in that link on the links-list page and have now re-uploaded it.

The dirty Hunslet windows impressed me, never seen that before.

I realy like the Hunslet review. Great to read this off-the-beaten-path review !

I hope the next issue will have another great find like that !

Just as I'm sure there's a plethora of links I don't have on the RW links page. *!!wink!!*
I think there's a few in your mag that I don't have.
