Netbooks advice sought

Unread postby Dan » Tue Oct 18, 2011 7:37 am

Hi,

At the moment I am having to commute between two countries and spending a lot of time on planes and in airports. I am thinking of getting myself a basic ie c£250 netbook. Does anyone have any advice or opinions on brands/models that are good or should be avoided. I am really just interested in something that is lightweight that I can write word docs on and on occassion surf the net.

Any will really do. Even name brand netbooks are dirt cheap. $250-$300. There is really no need to shop. They are advertised as basic and no frills, so that is what you get.

I really love my chromebook, however be warned that this is a Google machine and you cannot install PC software on it. That said, I like Google Doc, and their other apps, I can even sync my outlook calendar from my work machine with my Google Calendar, and upload my MS Docs and PPTs to Google Docs to work on them when I am mobile.
