Cute, but what can it do?

The latest trackside asset, and if we're lucky, it will actually say a few words of encouragement.

Hotbox / Dragging defect detector. It'll be pretty limited, probably like the NS ones that say the Railroad, Milepost, and "No defects". My plans are to record a "template" talk with the railroads, numbers, and so on that end-users can mix with an audio program and customize the detector. But that's way out there, and i've not even started the electronics/broadcast cabinet.

I posted something about doing this same thing a few months ago on ts.com, but i never could get any answers on how to set up the sound triggers.

BS, i'm not exactly sure, but my thinking at this time is of using the same audio triggers that the crossing signals use. If those won't work, then perhaps the old AndiS scripts that were used on the original SMM crossings will work. It's going to take some experimentation, and in the end, it won't be perfect, but it will at least be there for the looks.

Now to begin work on the "talking" part (keep fingers crossed).

It slices, it dices, it puree`s, it chops, it minces... oops. Wrong commercial.

It will, however, talk to you.

I have started uploading custom sound wav files for jerry's defect detector. First up is one for the Amtrack NEC route.
Instructions on how to install these custom sounds can be found in jerry's hotbox detector manual located in the C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Manuals\SMM folder
