Repaint help with 70 ton offset side hopper

Unread postby glenn68 » Fri Sep 02, 2011 1:14 pm

Good afternoon,
I have been working on a repaint of a Michael Stephan's NYC 70 ton off set side hopper in Bessemer and Lake Erie (B&LE) livery. Everything is good except one thing and that the reporting markers on the car ends still show up as B&A. I cannot find what file to edit to change this to B&LE?

Thanks,

Glenn

Hi Glenn,

On the 70t offset side hoppers, as well as on some of my 50ft boxcars (BN pack), most of the small lettering can be found in the alpha channel of the "***stencil.tgpcdx" file. This is a system I tried for more 'crispness' of the lettering, but not many people (especially repainters) seemed to like it, so I abandoned it again on my later models.

Cheers,
Michael

I have not encountered this in your repaint PSDs yet. I am curious how well this works because I am struggling to make better detailed lettering (like 2pt fonts) for my repaints. I know in some cases its just not going to happen, but I am always open to new ideas. Could you direct me to where I can find one of these repaints?

Michael,
I have it worked out. I found the stenciling in the stencil.tgpcdx afpha channel then I edited and everything looks great. I just have some small touch ups and I will post a picture.
