Route Got All Weird On Me

Tonight a route that I've been designing crashed while working on it. After bringing the sim back up, my route had reverted back to a stage from roughly 3 months ago. None of my backups help.... All come up from where I left off 3 months ago. Even the one I made just this morning does this. A computer restore point from 3 days ago didn't work. Really didn't expect it to.

If I verify on Steam the files, will this possiply fix things. Other wise I'm looking and a uninstall/reinstall.

Also, can this crash corrupt my backups? (don't see how, but right now I'm in the Twilight Zone baby!)

I think I got more problems than the sim. Now getting errors message on the main screen that several .dll files are missing. Now doing a scan disk would should fix things. If the sim has missing .dll files that might expain things.

Scan disc didn't help. Verufyinh files is bascally doing a reinstall despite whtat some say. And from reading, it causes more problems and in may case won't fix the issue. This option is bacally useless as far as I'm concerned. IWon't do a unstall/reinstall just yet. I'll lay some track on this portion from 3 months ago, save, back it up and see if the back up retained the most recent work.

In case you suspect Windows itself is having issues as well you could check your system files

1. Select the Start menu on the taskbar, or press the Windows key.
2. Type "cmd".
3. Right-click "Command Prompt" and select "Run as Administrator".
4. Type "sfc /scannow" and hit enter.

That's what I did. I did have some corrupt files and some missing files as well.

Well, whatever happned, it messed up all my backups stored on 3 external drives. Some 40 backups got jacked. Based on that, I don't think a uninstall/reinstall will help. It's the only route that's messed up. Whatever happened when the game crahed last night it really did a number on me. Don't think it was the sim. My poor computer just freaked......

Neither the sim nor Windows would have corrupted your 40 existing backups.
I think something is broken in your USB drivers or your hardware.
What kind of backups did you take? Just a copy of the files, or a backup software?
Can you read and write other files from the external USB drives?
Can you check your external disks for errors (chkdsk, etc.) ?

If you have access to another computer, try plugging in one of your external drives and see if it reads. It doesn't solve the issue with the missing DLL files, but I know I would rest easy knowing that all my previous work is safe.

Found a backup that looks like the one before the crash and all the other stuff. Thing is the route ID number is different. I never cloned or renamed the route. At any rate, i'm back in business.
