C33-7 MMA.jpg
My next repaint is a bit special. It's the lead locomotive #5017 of the 72-car oil train that derailed in Lac-Mégantic Quebec in July 2013, destroying the entire city center and killing 47 people. The train was left alone the day before on the main track at Nante, 15 km from Lac-Mégantic. At 1 a.m. with no one on board, the train rolled downhill into the city center, where the oil-filled cars derailed and exploded. Ironically, the locomotives were unharmed, as they were the only ones not derailed and came to rest further away from the disaster. This locomotive is an ex-Burlington Northern C33-7 purchased by Montreal Maine & Atlantic, who couldn't even be bothered to buy a decent logo, just the letters MMA affixed to the sides. A company that went bankrupt shortly after the tragedy and this locomotive was sold at auction the following year. Of course, you're free to download it or not but I must warn you that it's bad luck! Download at your own risk.
