GP40-2, GP402H-2B and Clinchfield SD40 to use SS 16-645E3

Unread postby trainfan12487 » Mon Aug 08, 2022 5:12 am

Hi All,

What is the process of changing the GP40-2 and the NJT GP40H-2B to use the Searchlight 16-645E3 sounds and light flares?

Also tried the same with the Clinichfield SD40 to no avail.

Anyone got any step by step guide as I'm a noob.

Cheers

The advanced scripting searchlight use for their proxyxmls won't be compatible with the SD40s or GP40-2s

TL;DR it takes a lot of modification to the files, including porting the scripts over and then scripting whatever is missing back into the loco, as searchlight's scripts won't account for all of it. It's a very advanced and lengthy process and takes some serious TS expertise to pull off.

Their web page says it supports all of these so why should you have to go to great lengths to get this to work on the Clinchfield SD40?

SUPPORTED DLC

SD40BnsfPack01
SD40BnPack02
SD40WnPack01
Default Kuju SD40-2s
SD40BnPack01
SD40SfPack01

I think someone did a pack that modified the sounds but the sounds used weren't prototypical. I think the used the GP 20 engine sounds.

Mainly curious because there's packs out there that modify the sd45s to use searchlight F40 sounds and lights etc.
