Ladies and gentlemen, finally I'm able to bring my contribution to this topic *!greengrin!*
Here is my NJ scenario for the Bergen Line!
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/ ... 2534736975

Now, if you will allow me, I'd like to share a few personal details here: I discovered the Bergen line in the summer of '18. At that time my life was in a very different stage: I was working in a big city away from my hometown.
I immediately liked the bergen line and i fell in love with it. I'm an enthusiast of modern time operations and since there wasn't any scenario I decided to create this one.

Then my life continued, I since changed job and moved on to my hometown but I kept improving the scenarios as the line grew and I'm really happy to complete a work which followed me for almost 3 years. It's way humbler that what minermand did, but I'm proud of it nonetheless.

I hope you are gonna have fun with it and I want to thank minerman146 once again for making all of this possible. *!lol!* *!lol!*

LuisaA! I just KNEW someone had to have a scenario ready, and its you. Mister Numbah one! Now I have something to do!
Thank you.

I do have an announcement and unfortunately it is a mea culpa. 2 days ago I tweeked all the platforms to make them heavy with people between 6am and 8am on the track 2 East bound. In the case of Sloatsburg, the platforms are concrete blocks. So, to change the invisible platform I left track 2's platform high in the sky. I found it last night driving - there was a shadow where there never was one. So, if you do see it go in to editor and lower it back.

For the life of me I cant remember the distraction that I had at that moment. My apologies.

PS LuisaA your scenario is getting very favorable comments!

I do need a tugboat, got a link for it?
And yes I had to by 3/4 CDX at Lowe's about 3 weeks ago and it was $58.00 a sheet! Stick Lumber is only for our overlords now. Hope they choke on it.

You see my custom Lumber rack on that shot?

One more comment. While I did detail the route, I very much like the idea that people can make it their own with by adding things they like. There is room on the route to do this.

Hey, how about that? We are still here and still doing the Wednesday Route Report and Update Status for this Friday, July 9tn, 2021.

It's not going to be the end-end for awhile as I still have things to do. Let's keep the format so as not to disturb my fellow OCD people. And, let's bust it out, as usual, with the route update!

Here is the current route update status:

[ ] Not Final
[ X ] Still Final

Well now that was easy. And let's spin some tunes!

Yeah baby - Mr. Edwin Starr doing 25 Miles!

Admit it, you guys miss the dancing ladies amiright?
Linky cuz de googlez don't work so good on RWA: https://youtu.be/ndw9u0_nBSk

Let's get to talkin bout da route. It's been just a week since finalization, response is favorable and I feel good. I think it was late in May the first cutoff of 15 June was announced. Subscriptions started picking up. The last week has been intense and that pace appears to be continuing. That stats are as follows: From June 4 to July 7 Subs are up 99, from 3361 to 3460 and people are banging on the old thumbs up too.

Credit where its due goes to Schnauzahpowahz and his ongoing exposition of the Bergen. He's been punching out videos for over a month and I think, based on the comments, that some new people are signing up. As said before, this is really the only measure of route activity, its not like I can tell how may people are running it at anytime. So the conclusion is, with finalization, videos and word of mouth there is a bump.

Work of course still continues. While not directly on the route as we have been doing, its more about the route. With new users comes issues with finding stuff, performance and general "issues", I get to respond to all inquiries. Fortunately, I went though this early on and I know jump on any problems with a response and hopefully, a solution. After changing jobs, I knew the hours shift was going to make working the route a bit difficult, so its a good thing to have cut out when I did. But for my next project, I will be working on my Operations Guide, which you can download here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4DCtR ... PrHlxbdm-A. The reason for the guide is multifold, I wanted it to look like my Dad's timetable, which it does. And I wanted it to assist users and particularly scenario builders. Given the scope of the route, not just in miles, but with all the sub-yards and businesses its difficult to figure out where to get started. I also wanted to list out what the base rolling stock and engines that come with the route, to aid in keeping the dependencies low. Currently, I am enhancing the scenario section with track maps of yards and consignees using actual track maps circa 1986. But one of my larger issues, that has not been tackled is what to do for the guy who stone cold gets the route and asks "now what". So, I will try to explain the routes context and how it works in plain speak so that it can be enjoyed to the fullest. I wanted the Bergen to be operable as well as visually appealing. Going going forward, we shall see if the Operations Guide has its desired affect with scenarios.

With that said, I am glad I still have some work to do, because I am wandering around my house saying "now what do I do" all the time. I will continue to keep all of your posted right here on Railworks America with news, information and hot chix whenever I can. Or more accurately - every Wednesday.

Carry on

I was not sure about what to do with the Quick Drive on this route? Because I have not done this at all and would like to try to run this route with some quick drive scenarios that some of the members created for this route. So what am I suppose to do after select this route, The Bergen Line then what? Hope someone have a minute to explain how to do to pick a quick drive scenario on The Bergen Line?

Thank you,

John

Hey John your question comes up enough for me to have created a post on my workshop page to answer you questions. First, here are the written instructions:

For the uninitiated to do a quick drive: From the main TS screen, Click Drive, then, on the left pane, choose a loco and below that chose THIS route. To the right of the loco pane you can chose a custom consist that you may create on your own. And below and to the right of the route pane, click that to chose your Depart and Destination points
Second, here is the link in workshop:

Last if this works or does not work for you let me know. I also accept recommendations to make it better.

Carry on.

I will do so in a pm. I actually was just testing to see if it's "permanent. I can restart Steam and restart the route and the correction stays. It appears if I install a new scenario it reverts back. Yeah I go to bed every night since I finalized and think about that block of concrete.

Miss me yet? By the looks of the old calendar on the wall its that time again for the Wednesday Route Report and Update Status for this Friday, July 16th, 2021.

Who knows what the future will bring in this week's status report? Hit it!

The glorious route update status is:

[ ] Ohhh lemme check
[ ] Ummm
[ X ] Nope, Still Final!

Whew, I was getting flashbacks from 2 years ago there for a minute.

I know you have been wondering what I have been doing since the route went final.
Lets hear from the Statler Brothers on what I have been up to!

Link! https://youtu.be/OiUW0q0UnUI

This reminds me. I'm thinking of putting a YouTube playlist togther,"Jammin on the Bergen!" Yeeeeaaaah!

Everything is just going great. Someday, I will tell you about my new job which is cool. Work on the route: I had ONE thing left to do, which was to post a patch to lower the monolith at Sloatsburg and a row of trees in Carlton Hill. The link for the fix and my mea culpa is on my workshop page. I expected that something obvious would pop up, but thank goodness it wasn't the track and signals (bless you Kris120) So, the route is fully functional and we got 3 scenarios out there, which you can find by most recent/popular or just type "Bergen" in the search and check out what pops up.

Schnauzahpowahz is STILL doing videos of the route. Today he is up in Maybrook, NY running some legit 1968 New York Central RS3's from DieselWorkshop's - ALCO RS-3 Series. Of course they may not be aware of the greatest railroad evah, but you never know. Maybrook was TOUGH to not do retro. Honestly, like the route itself, I have had to console my self that there may NEVER be Erie Lackawanna DLC that could be used in the workshop. So, I would have been asking for trouble making my 197X 'dream route'. But since he was in Maybrook he had to bring up Penn (huck-tooey) Central and then my eye started to twitch like inspector Dreyfus from the Pink Panther films. Anyway, in his dialogue and in his own words, he captures the history and importance of the place for the New Haven and railroad history. I can't say it enough, Schnauza's almost genteel voice and by that I mean polite and graceful is just a joy to listen to. And him doing the Bergen the way he does, means alot to me.

After this post, I will continue working on the Operations Manual. There will be many more yard and siding diagrams with proper descriptions forthcoming. In addition I will spell out how the "station system" I refer to all the time, works and have a simple diagram to show that. While evoking the past and injecting history into to the route was important, operations is high up on my goal list for the route. If any of you would like to discuss the manual here, that is certainly relevant and open for discussion.

I have plenty more to talk about going forward, at least until next time.

Carry on.

HELP - I've looked through your Workshop page for the Bergen, twice, and I can't find your mea culpa or the patch. Any clue as to where it is would help.
