I am proud to present my first Railworks/Train Simulator add-on. These models represent the Pullman Standard version of the Autorack that was made in the 70’s and 80’s.

There are 9 different liveries with thier own model: BN, BNSF, CSX, CRQ, GT, CN, NS, SP, and UP.

The models consist of around 90,000 verticies which 1/4 of them are from the roof. The roof has a second LOD that has around 24 verticies when you are 100m away.

All textures are in Paint.Net files because that is my preferred image editing program. You can copy and paste each layer into a Photoshop document to create a PSD. Keep in mind that not all layers are in a “normal” blending mode. Some are using “multiply” or “overlay;” additionally they aren't 100% visible.

Textures:
Main (4096x4096) - All decals are embedded onto this texture due to its high resolution.
Mesh (4096x4096) - Both exterior and interior meshes.
Holes - Alpha Mask (4096x4096) - This is only to be used in Photoshop. Create and Alpha mask and paste the “Holes - Alpha Mask” onto the clipping layer. I included a .txt file that explains how I do it.
Interior (1024x1024)
Bogies (1024x1024)
Shine (1024x1024) - Wheel shine
Coupler (1024x1024)

You can expect the Bethlehem Steel version (with longer braces and less perforations) in a week or two and Gunderson’s Multi-Max autoracks sometime next month.

Code: Select all
***This set is freeware and is to not be redistributed commercially or for compensation/currency. You first need to ask for my permission. Repaints are allowed and encouraged, however you cannot include the GeoPcDx models.***

Terrific, thanks.

These very common cars do look nice!

Thanks for your efforts and your generosity of sharing them with our community :-)

Would you mind if I made some corrections/additions to your blueprints?

I made an MT and LD version separate due to how RW handles (or lack there of) loadable cars.

Other changes were brake forces adjusted to reflect Load/Empty Sensor % values, weights (aforementioned), lowered drag to 1.3 (while 4 is a decent value, one has to remember this game doesn't have slip streaming), adding the consist messaging capability, sound aliased to our FRT Pack 01 for now, and controls for the FRT Pack 01's audio triggers (emergency braking, braking etc etc).

I don't know too much about about the numbers and values for braking action/etc for blueprinting. I literally just took those straight from the default Autoracks.

Had to do a little black magic with the paint.net PSD exporter to get the templates to a useable format, but I got there in the end. These are awesome to work with, and the model is absolutely stunning. !*salute*!

These are outstanding, thank you very much! Looking forward to the additional autorack variants coming soon. Decided to take them on a quick spin on Stevens Pass with the TRS BNSF SD70ACes.

I'm glad you are all enjoying them! I'm already starting the process of making these in to the Bethlehem version. Won't take too much work.

Hello ABStudios, I've finished the patch for the autoracks. Feel free to reference the values in the .bin files for future developments.
