Error code C0000005 Out of Memory for one route

I have been trying to get this route up running but still no luck with Out of Memory. All other routes that I have are no problem to run the route. Earlier today I decided to download and extract Doc (Machinst) Lisboa file, SD40-2W to desktop then use RW_AssetSetup to install them. Then I copy the folder of Assets with SD40-2W from RSC folder to JL folder for CN SD40-2Widenose. Guess what? Every time I try to run the route of CN Yellowhead route and selected the scenario ( I tried all of them ) and none of them are working due to " Out of Memory ". Yes I did make a backup folder of JL Assets to desktop in case with Doc Lisboa files are not working. So I decided to delete the folder of RSC to recycle bin and move the folder of JL back into Assets folder. And still the same problem that is telling me " Out of Memory ". Yes I did run " Reset Cache " in Options Menu but still no go. I have try everything to get this route of CN Yellowhead working again in TS 2020 but no luck. Any idea how to get this back into running again with this route of CN Yellowhead? I know I made bad decision to copy the files (Doc Lisboa) in RSC Folder to JL Folder in Assets. Wish that I didn't do this in the first place. Anyway I will have to remember that for next time to leave the files alone.

Your help would be appreciated to get this route of CN Yellowhead running again. No point to sent a support ticket for assistance.

Delete the route from your Steam library. Exit Steam and then load Steam back up and check off the route again and it will reload it and all will be fixed.

I don't know where people get this idea of shutting down Steam after you have deleted a route then restart it to install. There is no need to do that. Just untick the box and wait for about 30 seconds or longer then tick the box again to install and you should see it downloading again at the bottom of your screen. BTW you do this now from your library TS page. Just scroll down the screen until you see on the right mange my DLC. You can enter the name of the route you wish to find in the search box at the top. Far easier than the old interface.

Hi Trevor,

Yes I remembered now that you have told me before about this and somehow slipped in my mind about untick the box of the route then wait for 30 seconds then tick again. I have tried several times this evening and still no go with this route of CN Yellowhead Pass due to the problem with OUT OF MEMORY ( Error Code C0000005 ) but all other routes that I can launch and simulate the routes in TS 2020. I am not sure exactly with CN Yellowhead Pass route. Guess that I might as well send a support ticket to dovetailgames.kayako.com. I know tomorrow is the big day for any users who have the program of Train Sim World. Not likely to get a response from them right away.

I get that error sometimes when I install stuff from the workshop, especially scenarios. Did you try anything from the workshop for the yellowhead route?

OK let me tell a story about this. No I did not try anything from the workshop for this route, CN Yellowhead Pass. I already simulated this workshop scenario, CN Q119 from the workshop and when it's done then unsubscribed them from the workshop menu in Steam Community in the main program of Steam. Also I did unsubscribed everything with workshop routes or scnearios as well too. Then I click " VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME FILES " under Train Simulator on the left with right-click then go over to LOCAL FILES to see the name to click also did went over to Settings > Tools > Reset Progress and Settings > Tools > Clear Cache too on top right corner of the Train Simulator. Still doesn't help with this message, OUT OF MEMORY. I did sent a support ticket to Kayako.Dovetail.Support and got the reply from the guy name, Chris M. He said that he couldn't help with this issue also mentioned that OUT OF MEMORY is an issue for everyone who got this message and still ongoing investigation to resolve this problem. Wow and the other thing that he said that go over to Steam and ask for a refund of this route if they let. Well my refund is DENIED. Even I explained to the support of Steam about the error message with OUT OF MEMORY. Guess that doesn't help with this to get a refund from them. I am disappointed and learned a hard lesson that I shouldn't done this in the first place and see my first message.

GOOD NEWS about this -- NOW I CAN SIMULATE THIS ROUTE OF CN YELLOWHEAD PASS.

I have been thinking over about my problem with OUT OF MEMORY all day and few minutes ago I just remember that I should have delete the folder of Yellowhead in JL folder under ASSETS. Then I unzip the .ap file inside the folder of Yellowhead and launch the program of Train Simulator in 64-bit exe and pick the route with CN Yellowhead Pass and the first career scenario. Off it went and works like a charm. Yay!!

That's great news. That was going to be my next suggestion to delete the files and reinstall. I'm glad you didn't give up. I had this same issue with the New Haven route and it drove me crazy.

I get the code when I have first reinstalled TS2020 after a fatal crash. I had uninstalled TS2020 and removed the Train Simulator folder from steam apps common. I re-downloaded the sim and works great for the first start. The I try reloading the game after I shut down and when the game is loading into the first splash screen I get the error and the game crashes completely. I tried both 32 and 64 bit executable and no avail still the same crash. Now I uninstalled the sim again (4th time now) I went into my profile and unsubscribed from every workshop item I was subscribed to which was about 5 pages worth. Now hopefully within 20 minutes I will have a fresh copy (Without 3rd party items installed) and now will see if it crashes again when updating the scenario db.

I may have this solved. After reinstalling TS2020 several times since yesterday and having the same error occur every time. I did alot of reading and in my situation it was happening at the splash screen when the sim is loading all the scenario databases. I went in to my community profile for the workshop and un subscribed to every scenario and route that I had. Restarted the sim and it loaded up quicker and no error. I had 5 pages of subscriptions I cut off. Which scenario or route that was causing the problem, That I am clue less. With the stock installed TS 2020 and all my Paid DLC it runs fine now.
