It seems to be in DTGs hands for now.

Why would you have to buy it again if you already own it? You already have it. I still have my B&LE Route.

I was asking not telling. will have a new route id # I figured they would just sell it as a new route with new name and new engines because they have different names and I do not know how many times I bought the same engine because it was upgraded or repainted

I understand where the question is coming from, in regards to workshop scenarios. If the generic route has a new route id, new route markers, etc, then as an owner of the original BLE route, I would not be able to take advantage of any new workshop scenarios that utilize the new route. But if DTG was to offer existing BLE route owners a special discounted price of say... $10 for the generic version, I would gladly pay that to get the workshop scenarios... and toss a little bit of cash to those awesome route developers.

We have members who had not purchased the route yet. We're just curious when it will be released.

I hadn't thought about the route ID being different when the route gets renamed and scenarios re-equipped or rewritten. We might wind up with two identical routes (we use our own equipment for the most part) that can't use the same scenarios.

Unless they could be ported. Probably not. At the least location markers with the initials would have a different name. Just have to wait it out.

One way to possibly make sure that only the people who owned the route previously have the logos is to remove the logos from the base package, then before the new version releases add the logo package to the Steam depot that contains the B&LE route. This will automatically add the logos package to everyone's library who already owns the route, then the item can be removed from the depot but not peoples' libraries and it can finally go up for regular sale. Those who buy the route after its reissuing will NOT have the logos package installed with the route, while hopefully everyone that owned the route DOES have the logos package. It's a bit like how the Racetrack's BNSF logos were only available to US customers. That's the only way I can think of going about it without creating a second route ID or nixing the logos for everyone.

All the BNSF and Metra logos were available within days of the Racetrack route release here done by us.

Bessemer & Lake Erie ( a.k.a. Penn Steam ) has been removed from the DTG catalog and will not be available or supported through Steam. This was primarily due to trademark issues, as described elsewhere.

RWA has kindly agreed to make the entire route available as freeware. The authors of the route ask you to financially support RailWorks America in this effort. I would suggest a contribution equivalent to the fee charged for DLC during discount ( generally about $20 US. )
