Great Northerner GP9s

A little trivia for today for those who like to debate how close or not a color in TS shows up here is a shot I took of the difference just between two monitors on the same computer.

I believe that the right is not color.

I would assume the monitors have the same settings. It looks like the one on the right has a little more saturation, but I could be wrong.

Don't assume that. !*roll-laugh*! That's one area (among many) that I am woefully ignorant. They are whatever they came out of the box. All I was trying to say was that different people are liable to see significantly different colors of things in TS due to their monitors.

I experience the same difference in color tone between my two monitors (plus a Panasonic 32" TV) I have connected to my PC graphics card. One of the monitors, a ViewSonic VX2025wm is about 8-10 years old. The newer one is an ASUS VG-248. There is no way to get the vivid colors (of locos or wagons) in the Viewsonic that I get in the ASUS. !!det!!

GPU EVGA GTX-1060 OC 6GB at 1920x1080, 144 Hz - Monitor ASUS VG-248QE
System Windows 11 Pro in WD SSD 500 GB. Games in Inland 1Tb M.2 NVMe PCIe

The interesting thing as my bride pointed out is if you take a screen shot and take a look they look the same because the file doesn't care what your monitor sees hence why she suggested I take a picture. Smart lady.

Lucky me, for calibrating my 3 monitors, I borrowed this from a friend: https://www.amazon.ca/Datacolor-S5P100- ... B00UBSL31Q
It took all of 15 minutes. Years later they are still perfectly calibrated, all monitors show exactly the same color.

Thatˋs the clue. Without calibrating you are bound to the settings of the monitor manufacturer. And itˋs even worse if you would try to print your picture. The printer has to be calibrated too! Additionally monitors are aging and colours are fading out with the years. So calibration has to be repeated from time to time.

!*roll-laugh*! , I meant that I know it's going to be a Great Northern unit, I was asking if it's for the RSC GP9, or another one.

It's the Micheal (Great Northerner) one and no it's not going to be a GN one. The next progress pic the logo will be gone.
