I run a logging program in the background at all times, so I checked what was happening with the game and my system at the time it dumped. TS2020 (64bit) was only using ~3.35GB of RAM at the time out of ~9GB available at the time. My system has 16GB, so the 'out of memory' description seemed especially suspect. CPU/GPU temperatures and usage were all within normal parameters too.
I restarted and was able to resume work with no further issues.

Just as the route loaded, the Missus arrives from grocery shopping, so I went out to carry the bags into the house. After restocking the pantry, we sit down and start talking, then turn on the news and play a few hands of cards. Just over two hours later, I remembered leaving the computer with TS2020 running, and went back to turn it off. During my absence, TS2020 had crashed, leaving only it's "Out of Memory" calling-card on my desktop. This happened without entering any inputs into the sim.![]()
Afterwards, I cleared cache and resumed route building; all was fine for a while until I forgot to hit F2/Save, and lost around two hours of work when the sim crashed again ...going to change my startup icon to "Train Wreck Simulator 2020"

I have found if you get a crash later all the stuff from before the latest F2 is saved. At least that's my experience. I also use the IOBIT monitor to clear my RAM at the same time. It does wonders to help to keep the crashes to a minimum when doing painting or route building.
