We'll have to see how much of a challenge it really is. If the stock performance of the GP38-2 and GP40-2 are any indication.. Likely not.
Enhancement Packs fix that, I suppose.

Well...since you asked...

First off, I am almost finished with a comprehensive inventory and review of every piece of modern North American equipment available in the many addons for the game. Not an easy task in itself but well worth the effort. In doing so, I discovered numerous duplicated cars/paints. (I plan to share my completed findings with the group soon, as I'm sure there are others curious as I.

Please understand, I am grateful for any North American equipment but I would prefer that if the same pieces of equipment are used, then at least different paint schemes could be offered in the sets. And as I live on the NS Chicago Line (about 100 feet from my back door), I see trains (on average 75-90 per day) every day and have come to appreciate the many varieties and types that pass by.

So...here's my "short list" of modern North American equipment that would be wonderful additions to the game:

    Gunderson MAXI-IV Double Stack Cars
    Dynastack Intermodal Cars

NSC 2400 cu ft Aggregate Cars

    Sodium Hoppers
    Carbon Black Hoppers
    Pressure Discharge Hoppers

    NSC Coil Cars

    Protein Covered Gondolas
    Covered 52ft Gondolas

    Flatcars with additional loads:
OTTX, Oversized-equipment, Wind Turbines, Large Crated equipment, Generators?

MOW equipment of any kind, epsc. Rail Maintenance, Crew cars, Grinder tarins, etc etc

    Articulated Autoracks? Gunderson or Thrall

Finally, any additional sizes and types of tankcars (besides the 16K set that is peppered throughout the various addons)

I realize that many of these cars may have not been seen by fans but they are present on many trains across the systems.

Well, that's just my wishlist for modern. Pre-1958 is a totally different matter...sigh.

I'm grateful for a NC route! Living in NC and railfanning the area that is now coming to the game is a great feeling! Now if only we could get the H-line.... lol

I wish routes come with separate rolling stock packs, so more time and effort can be put in the route itself.

Agree with Hobo1960: we need more freight cars.

The basic Kuju/RSC/DTG ones that have been around for years only account for 20 different cars or so.

Moderator repeats himself but what would you like to see that's not there?

Anyone know who is building it? I wouldn't think it is a in-house project.

For us Western mostly rail guys what's the H-line? I looked on the Wikipedia page which has a enormous amount of information but missed any reference to this.

The GN Cascadian came with all kinds of different stuff.

Clearly DTG is reading all the little requests that appear here, on Steam and the Dovetail site. So thanks Gary and DTG for paying attention!.
(and yes, the Bergen needs a GP38-2 for service out of Suffern, NY)

The NS GP38-2 will be PERFECT for CSAO runs on the NEC and NJCL too ;)

Not trying to shoot you down but this is wrong. The H-line we're talking about is apart of the Piedmont corridor branching off from Greensboro, NC to Goldsboro, NC.

I feel like DTG is only doing the easy options. They probably recycled the rollingstock and locomotives. The NS gp38-2 is new yes, but you could literally get a freeware repaint somewhere else. If they were reading suggestions, they would probably try something new or something that is ACTUALLY a classic instead of taking something modern and naming it a classic. A Branchline is nice and all but all these reused railcars are getting old. I bet the railcars included will be something along the lines of: Tank Car Silver, Double Door Boxcar, 50ft Boxcar, Centrebeam, Gondola. Because most of those are in every route that they make, just with different names.
