Now the freight units. There's a lot more B&W pictures than color!

The reason I'm looking for weathered versions is realism.

Every time I look at the DTM RF-16, I feel something isn't right. I'm not much a guy of feelings, I prefer to provide informed opinions based on facts, but in this case I can't.
I know DTM was working with plans and pictures, and they are excellent modelers, and I'm not, but there's something missing.

I've narrowed it down to this: I can't match the model with real-life pictures. Maybe it's not the model, maybe it's due to different FOV, or distance compression.
The RF16 was a primitive, unsophisticated, noisy, dirty, brutish heavy-hauler. The picture below conveys this feeling. I had HO models that conveyed this feeling.

The DTM model doesn't convey this feeling. It is nice, simple, clean, sharp, elegant. A little too sharp ( a few more polys around the nose and windshield would be good), a little too simple (a few more handrails and thingamajings on the body and undercarriage would be good), and a lot too clean. There are no baked highlights or shadows, so in the PRR Brunwick Green livery, which is almost black, the unit looks featureless.

I'm hoping heavy weathering will make the model convey this feeling of brutish power.

Yes! Nice weathering streaks.
More dust from the roadbed?
And some smoke black near the exhausts.
